It looks to me like maybe their site was under attack by thieves trawling to steal steam keys.
They probably had to try and stop it in whatever way they can.
They also have a "click to reveal key" on purchased keys as well.
edit:
Though Google and their dam captcha is slowing the internet to an annoying buggy crawl on a lot of sites.
We should start a petition to free the internet from google's grasp.
Or at least make a captcha that works quickly and doesn't require multiple f ' ing retries before it lets you through.

I've been literally trying to log on for 10 minutes. The first time the captcha is ALWAYS wrong (try again) regardless of how accurately I do it. The second or third times I finally get it right and I get the green check, and then DIG is not OK with that and says "Error: Invalid email/password or incorrect CAPTCHA. "
I give up.

So are they actually planning to bring the selling function to work? It's 3 sep already, but nothing changed.

It looks like they did nothing on august, due to laziness or vacation, so they decided to finally start do smth now

Postponed again. I have so many keys I want to sell. I'm losing hope.

until someone says key is invalid and get a refund before you spend points... try king**n instead, very good support service (it is C2C marketplace & B2C grey marketplace too...)

Good to know, thanks. I've sold 200+ keys on DIG and never had anyone say they didn't work. I have 100% feedback...which is surprising because I know how many people take advantage of sellers. I've also bought at least 50 games on there and every one of them has worked.I must be lucky.

I still like Dig, but with the recent changes to the steam store and the total and utter lack of correctly labeled games, makes me really reluctant to re-up on my DIG points,, I've already bought about 40 bucks in DIG points since they switched over from the old bundle to the new buy cheapo games...
I can't really blame them for failing to block games that aren't really considered games on your account, but I can with games which are inaccurately listed as being one thing,, buying them and redeeming them and being told I already own that game and being out my points..
Also the selling stuff being flat out broken, sucks because it was nice to unlock my duplicate bundle games for games which I don't already own.. sigh,, maybe things will shape up over there, until then I'm spending my last 70 points and not buying anymore..

This section of the DIG MarketPlace is currently down for maintenance, as we are performing overhaul work.
We expect this to be live again, after OCTOBER 1st, 2018.
Trading of 3rd party keys is suspended until then.
I am still waiting for this section to be up again so I can spend my remaining 3900 dick points. (got forced refund for valid keys by the way, one from humble monthly)
I'd rather not get their own humble bundle keys from there...
Also, that's grey market not from "official publishers" EDIT: they removed that claim...
I hope I'll find a way to spend those points in a meaningful way... it's not like i'd like to buy 780 keys of Crystals of time 👽

It made money, but he was getting undercut on the keys he listed -- both in the DIG store and the ones that showed as 'guaranteed'. This way seems to be generating him more money, for the moment.
I used up all my remaining points around when this first started (2 months ago now?) & don't plan on depositing any more, even though some of the store things are tempting (for card farming). Just don't want to support what he is doing w/ the site now.
.... though I gotta say, if there was some 10 or 20% Paypal promo like prior to marketplace ... maybe I'd go to the dark side -

(ed: i can't get "code" to work, so I'll just use bullet points)
Oh, I argued this of course. I have some conversation with him from early July, when fees increased to 25%.
I have cut some things (in an attempt to not ruffle as many feathers, I guess).
Hi,
Fee (20% Trading fee, min 2 DIG Points, rounded up):
It is in reality taking 25%. I'm having to price stuff a lot higher. Presumably that means less people will deposit money to buy. Didn't it just go from 15% to 20% in the last month or so? I guess I didn't list anything for 3 months, maybe I missed it ..
regards,
james
Response (in entirety):
A bit back and forth after that, and then this response;
Hi,
The purpose of the MarketPlace is for people to resell unused bundle keys.
It’s not a zero fee MarketPlace where people can make money simply copy & pasting games at our expense.
(big cut)
My response:
I never suggested that it should be a zero fee Marketplace (a massive cut here. my emails are too long. he also noted this. i agree)
... let's keep it real here. This MarketPlace exists solely (after the fact note: this was a bit harsh, presumably it was for benefit of all, or this is what I should have assumed at the time) for your own benefit (I'll operate under the assumption that you're a sole proprietor), the fact that it also helps these other people with their goals is what makes it successful. It was and is a good concept. Again, I have never said that it should be free. The initial fee was 15%. It has never been lower than this. I did not complain about it until it was increased to 25%.
We may as well go on about how eBay could make more money by sourcing merchandise themselves & that the only reason they allow all these outside actors to sell on their platform for 10-16% fees is due to the kind and giving nature of their shareholders (more stuff cut) ...
Please consider the scaling system I mentioned.
regards,
james
..... this scaling system mentioned was where fee is higher up to 50 or 100 pts and gradually decreases. This prevents competition he referred to (but possibly I cut from responses) in regard to otaku bundle stuff. From the complete conversation, this was the main complaint he voiced. I insisted that while it may be possible for him to make more money by doing things differently (like just listing his own keys on marketplace), it would require a lot more effort. What he had was a nice working system where he could profit off of minimal effort. This is what I strive to do myself. Some people are more driven.
It looks to me like he just decided to start reselling all bundled stuff on the DIG Marketplace. My presumption is that the 'AAA Game Store' was very successful, so this is why the Marketplace got gutted also.
ed: oh, I also said that this would likely increase his profit short term, but I cautioned that long-term or even medium-term, this would not be good for his site. perhaps I was (or am) wrong about that. oh, i also said that about 10% or more of the stuff I put on there wasn't bundled. like the street fighters, fract osc, civcity rome, 2dark (it was bundled later), splasher (it was also bundled later), koi musubi, raiden V director cut, and others. hence the thing about the 25% fee making me have to price these too high.

I sold a decent number of games on Marketplace. Including delisted games and and other rare stuff
Several where I was the only copy that ever went through there. In the $2, $3, $7 price ranges.
I was happy to pay 15% commission on them. Since I got DIG points to pick up bundle games I missed, or secondaries from the Monthlies, or net-positive games with cards. Even all the way at 25%, it was still pretty good for me.
But I'm not going to be putting any more money in.
If I can't get points selling games to people that put the real money in, I just won't be there at all.
P.S. Hello fellow 🎂

When I first saw these 'guaranteed' keys start appearing and the 'AAA' shop, I figured such a thing was coming.
Maintenance?... right.
Really, it's just some cash grab, reselling bundled keys and what not. It is too bad -- the marketplace was nice (or, rather, it was really nice at 15% fee, nice at 20% fee, and getting a bit funky at 25% -- no warnings, either).
I think short term, this will probably make the guy a lot more money. Long term, I'd hope not. It's his own personal G2A at the moment, I guess.

Why did they change the layout of the marketplace?! Now the "Steam Web Integration" script is useless because we now have to click on each and every single game title to be taken to it's respective page. UGH.....................................

The lack of a marketplace is really unfortunate. That was why I used the site. It doesn't take 8 months to do maintenance.

They apparently modified the marketplace/create trade message again... but it's wrong lol

Deman... Did you read and understand what I posted when I closed down the old thread? Because this thread should be closed for the same, basic reason. Instead of being an announcement of a bundle or deal, it has become an outpost for the DIG Store. That is not the purpose of the SteamGifts forum. Getting into specifics, ...
What I am seeking, here is your understanding of what you are doing wrong. I want you to understand so that you can avoid making the same mistake(s) in the future and avoid being punished for it. To that end, I am expecting a response from you, one that indicates you "get it," possibly including any questions you have. Once that is done, this thread may end up closed (depending upon what is appropriate).

Khalaq, the person that made the thread is not the same person that created the thread you previously linked in your post. I am not sure the person who originally made the thread 2 years ago is still maintaining it. Just wanting to make sure you're not blaming the wrong person here is all.

Thank you for your response. I realize Deman is a different person. I was addressing Deman because Deman is the author of the OP in this thread. While the OP in question was created December 3rd, 2016, and the last posting of Deman in this thread is October 4th, 2018, it seems Deman is still an "active" user on SG. As the points I brought up are relevant to any future postings he may make, I thought it would be a good idea to engage him in this thread rather than simply closing it. I would prefer he not repeat the same mistake in the future out of ignorance, thereby compelling us to punish him for the infraction.

I know right :P , talk about someone blaming a person who hasn't been online in three weeks for the postings of a few current users on a two year old thread that is not even updated by the original user in a long time - talk about jumping in with both feet and realising that the puddle is full of crap LOL

I appreciate you volunteering the information. It is not directly related to my reason for posting, but it is good to know and it was given with the intent to be helpful.

A DIG Store link is used instead of a simple title. A link to the main site might be appropriate as a "help," but the store link is "pushing the limit." Even so, that might be overlooked were it the only unnecessary redirect in the post. Unfortunately, it is not.
A DIG Support link is included. This is something readily available on the DIG site itself and therefore another unnecessary redirect.
Also included is a link to a thread which was closed because it promoted the DIG site. The apparent reason for this is to draw attention to the DIG Store, the very reason for which the old thread was closed, thereby circumventing a moderatior's enforcement of the "no advertising" rule.
The use of shorteners is not allowed on this site. Had this been the only issue, an exception may have been agreed upon due to particular circumstances. With the other problems, however, it is just "fuel for the fire."
Reading the most recent posts, it would seem that the DIG Store is now defunct. While that has nothing to do with SteamGifts or the validity of this post, it is another reason to close this thread.

okay, no i had not read the post prior to you closing down that old thread. i no longer maintain(ed) this thread, unsure on status of DIG, nor am/was ever associated with them to begin with other then a customer. i do not see how there is a difference between a bundle thread and this one however. in fact it started out as a direct mirror of how those threads were set up at the time.
1: all bundle threads linked to the purchase page of a direct bundle, not just the main page of said bundle site.
2: that was merely a (failed) deterrent from getting people to request support from this page.
3: again, a (failed) attempt to get people to request support from the actual owner of the website
4: yea, another moderator and i had prior discussed this. i had no choice due to the limitations in characters allowed in posts. i kept hitting the 10k character limit.
5: the one and only place where i actually agree with you and will happily close the thread after defending my prior actions.
