Friend sent me a gift, how would I enter it in a giveaway?

I'm a little scared that if I hit the big, giant "OPEN MY GIFT" button, I'll be stuck with it and unable to give it away on here. Is there a way maybe he can send it to my email address instead of my Steam account, and then I can resend it from there? (And would he be able to "revoke" his gift like that?)

In case you are wondering, I don't have the Maw, I don't want the Maw, I don't ever intend on obtaining the Maw. So having DLC for it does me nothing and I'd hate to waste it when someone else on here could make better use of it.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

If he's your friend and WANTS you to give away something he gifted to you, have him trade it through the Beta trading system so it gets added to your inventory.

You should have received an e-mail as well. I guess you could forward that to the winner.

Although the winner of your giveaway would end up friending whoever bought that gift in the first place.
