This is what I've had for about 5 years, and it's just now starting to fall apart, mainly because I drop it from about 4 feet high, and it falls off my desk a lot. Cancels sound pretty well, music is very crisp, the mic is incredible, though it is also super sensitive. And I believe it has what you meant with the pulling out/in mic feature.

usb plugs in to power something usually the speakers as sound cards are usually meant to play sound but not power speakers so usually head sets have a dongle to power the speakers
the exception may be your sound card headphone jack it should be powered by the sound card wbe it on board or after market
where the audio jacks you plug into the sound card and usually they have 2 for left and right channel but if it is 5.1 they may have more
but those turtle beach ones i can tell you right now are not worth it unless your just looking for basic sound and basic head set i bought them one time and they are junk imo and i ended up going back to my JVC stereo head set until i got my Tritons
but the turtle beach ones do function but my old sony 15 dollar head set sounds better then those and to me they where not very comfortable and the mic
Turtle beach sound quality does not get really good until you get around 100 dollar range imo but they are far from the worse choice
like i said before if your looking for good sound your not going to find it in a head set for 50 bucks
it is even hard to find a stereo head set for under 50 that sound good let alone one that also has a mic

Got the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset free with my sound card last October; still going strong. Granted, I don't play many co-op/multiplayer games that require me to use it, but I will from time to time. Can pull out mic, switch mic off/on, adjustable sound levels, and rests comfortably. Not sure where you live or if that matters, but Newegg has free shipping on it right now.

the best way to shop for head sets is to try them on and listen to them
as comfort for people and how they hear things are different to everyone
i could suggest some good head sets but then again my opinion of what is good might not reflect yours
what are you looking for in a head set unless your willing to spend decent money you will not find a very good sound quality
and what are you looking to do with it?? as some head sets will not work with some games or might not work with what you want to do with it
i think imo you would be far off better buying a nice set of cans and buy a mic separate that way you can buy really good sounding head phones as imo most with a built in mic have sub par sound because trying pack in good sound with a good mic and a good comfort usually do not come cheap
do you want closed or open head phone? i like closed for better sound but then you have to deal with them getting to hot during long gaming session
open is nice because it allows your ears to breath but depending on sound around you, some may leak in and they tend to leak more sound to others around you
and imo 5.1 is not worth the price and is just a gimmick and i have not noticed any real difference between 5.1 and up mixed 5.1 the biggest problem with them is the speakers are so close together it is hard in most cases to really tell the sound from one speaker to the next and most lack decent bass
i guess the most important question though is what is your budget?

also the other big question is do you at least have a decent after marker sound card??
other wise buying a 100 dollar head set might not be the best choice as on board around audio will not give it what it needs
here is a site that will really help you
http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gaming-guide-update-7-9-2014-ultrasone-hfi-15g-added
this article covers gaming head sets and stereo head sets it also has videos for sound testing surround sounds to see which you would prefer
like i said in my opinion if your going for best sound quality and have a decent sound card you would be fart off better with a really nice stereo head set and using the sound card to up mix to 5.1 but that is imo
read the forum link i gave you at the least you will know more about head sets
http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envys-headphone-gaming-guide-update-7-9-2014-ultrasone-hfi-15g-added
you could also get this as this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turtle-Beach-Ear-Force-DSS-7-1-Dolby-Surround-Sound-Processor-x11-p11-/300884680998
it is what i use for console and could be used for pc gaming and is better then on board sound
my sound card is the sound blaster 3d recon and it is perfect for gaming as it does 5.1 up mix if needed if game does not have 5.1 and it has an EQ to adjust for each game
between my JVC and my sound card i spent about 75 U.S.
but the choice is all yours
but finding a head set under 100 that sounds good has a good mic and that has comfort might be possible but a bit of a challenge unless your willing to settle for decent sound
anyhow i hope i have helped and good luck

Best I've head are:
Very sturdy, i use them daily for about 4-5 years now and they're as good as new as far as i can tell. Also it has the controls on the left headset so there's nothing on the wire thaat can get stuck in your chair or whatever (that's a big plus for me cause i ruined 2-3 headsets that way).

Not realy a gaming headset, but it's really good - Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro
It have additionaly microphone, and a lot of customisation stuff (which does not need frankly speaking :D)
Custom ones have great sound quality, listened them myself (personaly i have Sony MDR-CD780 and Sennheiser HD-215), and it was really really great! The thing with bass switch is just awesome, you can completely turn if off, or make headphones give to you a lot of bass. Treble not a lot, they are not stand out, but they sounds clearly, you can hear every single beat of the cymbals. They are good for everithing i think, very soft, do not squeezes your head, they can be used for hours. Customs have closed design, so no one will hear whar you are listening, and you will not hear outside noise as well.

Could you recommend any headset to buy? There are so many of them that I can't even consider which one should I take.
I prefer good isolation, very good sound quality, average/good mic quality, pulling out/in mic feature. So, any suggestions?
