Happy Birthday my friend! :)
Birthdays are not meaningless. Birthdays mean that you have pushed against the unbearable suffering of life for long enough that you have made something out of it: life. Birthdays mean that you are alive, and that you have not gotten bogged down in the monotony of mere existence. Birthdays are a symbol of wisdom and experience gained in exchange for time. They are a sign of experience, of knowledge of the unbearable suffering of life. They are the celebration of things seen, and things lived through. And while birthdays do represent the end coming nearer, they are not about the end but the things learned on the way. Birthdays are a reminder that life is hard, but that you have the power, and the will to overcome it.
