Recently finished the Broken Sword games so I'm up for a new adventure, thanks for Indiana Jones!

It's funny to see that Indiana Jones costs 6 Euros on Steam today, and I bought it for 10 Deutsche Mark (rougly the equivalent of 6 Euros now) on CD 20 years ago in a computer journal called "Bestseller Games". (Here you can find the German wikipedia article if you're interested which games you could also get there: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bestseller_Games) Unfortunately, in contrast to my Warcraft 1 CD (which I had in my hands just a month ago), my Indiana Jones CD went missing years ago...
So thanks for these giveaways!

I actually preferred the original broken sword 1 & 2 over the remastered versions. I didn't mind the new cartoon style speech bubble way of displaying the subtitles but I didn't care for the rest of the updated UI or the additional Nico story slapped onto the beginning of BS1 as it severely damped the impact of the games intro. They really should have added that part later in the game, in a flashback or something maybe.
All in all they are good p+c games. Had Fate of Atlantis on amiga600 & first 2 broken sword games on cd when they originally came out. I'd enter, but my level is too low.

I agree with you about the beginning of BS1, it was better starting outside the cafe / with the explosion scene, they should have put the Nico story after that, I totally agree.

The first broken sword is one of my favorite point'n click! The beginning is memorable and I remember when I was a kid it's the first game in which i could hear dialogs. A revolution for me!

It certainly was a breath of fresh air compared to the constant pun fests that Lucas were churning out at the time, not that there's anything wrong with the Lucas games. ;)
My favorite point & click game of all time is "Simon the Sorcerer" which was also made by a UK development team, though I don't think they are in business any longer.

I love WadjetEye games! I loved Resonance & Gemini Rue, and I recently bought Technobabylon! Looking forward to playing it!

At first thank you for those nice giveaways. I just love point and click adventures. My favourites are Monkey Island 1-3 and Simon the Sorcerer. The latter was my first game ever played on a pc. : )
From newer ones The Last Door really hooked me. Am looking forward to play the recently released Season 2.

There was actually a new Simon game in development by an indie team that managed to get some of old developers on board, including Chris Barrie (voice actor of first Simon game, who also happened to play "Smeg Head" Rimmer on the UK TV series Red Dwarf back in the 80's / 90's). Unfortunately it doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon - if at all now. :(
This is the dev company that were / are working on it. Shame as it sounded & looked like it might have turned out pretty good unlike Simon 3 & the appalling 4th & 5th games in the series that were made by 2 completely different dev studios that had nothing to do with the original development team.

Broken Sword 2 was the first adventure game I ever played, immediately felt in love with the graphics/artistic style!

in some ways I wish Broken Sword hadn't been as big a hit as it had been, since it was (probably) the cause of Beneath A Steel Sky 2 being stuck in development hell while they made more Broken Sword sequels and eventually cancelled Steel Sky 2. but the Broken Sword games are great in their own right too
edit: holy crap it was uncancelled and I didn't even know about it!

If it happens I hope it's more like Rev's earlier titles as I was severely disappointed with Broken Sword 5 (I've only played first episode mind). Graphics were nice, but overall it just felt rushed & liked they'd just made it to reap in a bit of quick cash, especially when you compare it to the standard set by the first game, which contained unique character animations for pretty much every interaction, loads of different locations to visit & a nice story-line.
Broken Sword 5 was like drinking a cup of weak tea.

Indiana jones and the fate of atlantis is indeed my favorite lucasarts game ever. I just wish that this great script could be once told through the cinema... Still waiting for it after so many years... Such a shame that Harrison Ford is too old for it now...
