http://androvm.org/blog/ is a pretty nice option. Haven't played much apart from Kairosoft games though, so I can't comment too much on performance.

So I'm installing BlueStacks to see how well it performs. With how much I game on my phone lately I'm starting to worry about battery wear. Does anyone know of any other Android emulators or VMs out there? Trying to keep my options open in case BS (lol) doesn't work out too well.
EDIT: So far BlueStacks is terrible, but working. I've had a recommendation below I'm going to try next. Finally, in advance, I already know about Android-x86. I don't want to have to set up a separate partition for a live CD, so that's not an option here.
