It's amazing! That one and Wickerman have a very special place in my heart

I'm not a big fan of them, but I like some of their songs. Once I converted "Fear of the dark" into a 8-bit song, wanna check it out?

2009 gee I feel old.

It's cool but I'm surprised you didn't go SID aka C64.
It's probably the most sophisticated 8 bit sound chip with digital controlled analog oscillators. It was designed by Robert Yannes - the guy who founded & designed the Ensoniq chips although modern systems actually follow from Jay Miner's pure digital designs (Atari 8 bit and then Amiga 16 bit).

But the fact that I've stopped listening to them after "Seventh Son Of A Seven Son".
Same here (at least on a consistent basis) It's not that I don't think their new stuff isn't good I think they peaked with Seventh Son and never reached the same heights again.

Threads, Discussions, Articles… Even books are not enough to describe the influence of Iron Maiden not only in the metal world, but in (and out of) music in general! We are lucky to live at their age, both being able to see them evolving throughout the years and playing live! Up the Irons! \m/

Happy cake day! Fear of the Dark is one of my favorites too, but personally it's Dance of Death lml

Personnally, I like Judas Priest more because I was an idiot and listened to Maiden so much that I got bored of it somehow... But Maiden will always hold a special place in my heart for being one of the bands that showed me Metal (the other being Slipknot xD), and I can't think of all-too-many bands that could've done better :3 My favorite is The Trooper, because it's the only song I could not hear often enough. It just didn't ever lose its charm.
Keep on rocking! \m/

Yes, I'm a Maiden fan and I've been playing their free phone game Legacy of the Beast which has great art & unreleased tracks but unfortunately crashes allot. Don't spend any money on it unless they fix it. It will crash and you'll lose items. It's got team building and a rock paper-scissors mechanic on the powers. The Troopers list only goes up to 50 so mine is full. (hints = don't waste your evolution crystals & fill your Troopers list ASAP)
Maiden put on a hell of a show with Priest & Queensryche at the old Aladdin theater in Vegas during the Brave New World tour.
Check out Bruce's Accident of Birth, The Chemical Wedding & Tyranny of Souls. Try to get the Japanese releases for the extra tracks. That actually goes for many bands. Japanese releases are often late but have extra tracks.

Yeah I have played that game too once, but except for the Maiden-themed style I didn't really like it, maybe it just isn't the type of game for me.
And about those songs, I actually haven't heard of them yet, so I will surely check them out soon.

Yes I knew but didn't mention it, because personally I thought the two albums Blaze sang were kinda horrid (except for a song here and there, like Sign of the Cross). And those albums were titled Virtual XI and The X Factor, the album Brave New World was actually song by Dickinson when he returned.

Well I started listening to them in high school, around the time they made A Matter of Life and Death, I loved them! And I had the blessing and privilege of watching them live in my home country on their first visit this year, and tonight I'm going to watch MEGADETH! So yeah, I'm the happiest camper these days :]
I really love Book of Souls too, it's an amazing album and it was the best concert in my life, the performance by the whole band and specially of Bruce (who managed to fought back cancer last year to continue to perform), I feel goosebumps just by remembering that masterpiece of a show...

They have pleasant enough music, but for me, having heard one (although I've heard quite a few- Dance of Death, No More Lies, Fear of the Dark, Flight of Icarus, Futureal, Ghost of the Navigator, The Fallen Angel, The Mercenary are all part of my permanent collection), the rest all sound the same.

Depends on the songs you've listened. I agree some sound the same, mostly their latest few albums, but almost all of them are completely different from eachother, like Paschendale, Children of the Damned and Run to the Hills, just to say some less known examples.

I never liked them, not even back when I younger and was really into everything-metal. I also don't understand why are they so popular and why so many people consider them great, but I won't bother questioning people's taste in music, after all there's tons of people who love listening to Justin Bieber, so yeah...
Nowadays I rarely listen to metal bands, with only two exceptions; Sabaton and Rammstein (if you count them as metal, some people argue they're not) which I listen to often.

Rammstein is surely metal, I also like them, with songs like Feuer Frei and Rosenrot. My favorite is Sonne. I partly understand German, which is great when listening to their songs.
But well, Iron Maiden isn't a band everyone seems to like, which is of course an opinion.

In my opinion it's not just the best metal band ever, but the best of any bands in the history of music. Just think about their songs like Phantom of the Opera, The Trooper, Fear of the Dark, The Number of the Beast, and their greatest hit; Ha%%owed Be Thy Name.
They have been a musical legend since their self-titled debut album to even their latest album "Book of Souls", and are still making new albums.
The band is originally formed by &teve Harris in 1975, and they released their first albums "Iron Maiden" and "Killers" with singer Paul Di'Anno, who left in 1981 and was replaced by world-famous Bruce Dickinson, who has been the band's lead singer ever since (except for 1993-1999 he temporarily left the band to work on his solo career and Blaze Bayley, which made two albums titled "The X Factor" and "Virtual XI", which were received with mostly negative reviews. Let's just forget about Bayley).
I love this band, they make music like noone else, their concerts with well-known mascot E##ie are simply amazing, and they have an incredible lineup consisting of three great guitarists, a drummer, Harris handling the bass and Dickinson with his powerful voice.
What do you think of this masterful band?
