If you don't care about price, then yeah, you can't go wrong with the Valve Complete Pack.

Happy birthday, then. :P
And to the people saying to get the Valve pack:
I have a lot of the games in it, and a different friend is getting CS 1.6 for me.
I have pretty much every other Valve game I want.
(I also don't want to be greedy with my friend's money...)

Mw3 is still a good First person shooter, but asking for a game he also has (so you can play together) would be my advice.

For first person shooters, you could go with the Unreal Deal pack (only $40). For platformers, you could go with Rayman Origins (yuck...Ubisoft ;/ ), Sonic Generations or even Tomb Raider maybe. And belated happy b-day Mr. brony.

Oh, right. Thought I had it set to organize by Name, but it was by Playtime so when I scrolled down it wasn't there. :P

How to infuriate a friend: ask for the most expensive game.

Half-Life 2: Lost Coast straight from Steam is only in the Valve Complete Pack :D

But we're talking about Steam, aren't we? Just checked Steam and the only written way of getting Lost Coast is through the pack. Just hope he's untrained in the art of video games.
Mandatory :D
Edit: if you like FPS, I would suggest ArmA 2. You can also grab a Lite version (1 multiplayer server + several missions) for free on Steam. It's hard to explain, basically you die in one burst, it's damn awesome in coop, and the missions require you to think (you've got a whole country you can visit) instead of following flashing arrows.

Just go with Deus Ex, nothing can go wrong :).
For a little more up to date graphics you could try http://www.moddb.com/mods/project-hdtp the High Definition Texture Pack and http://www.moddb.com/mods/deus-ex-new-vision New Vision. It just needs a more recent Prig as they eat more ressources than the game itself.

Well first i'd ask them if they have a steam game they'd like to play together.
Other than that, if you're into FPS, you could get yourself a Tribes Starter pack (you can try it first, the game is F2P after all, but you will get XP boosts and enough gold to unlock classes and weapons faster), you could also go for MW3 if thats your thing, or go for Battlefield 3 (i know, not steam).
The possibilities are endless, good luck, and happy birthday.

My friend offered to buy me any game on Steam for my birthday (which was yesterday), but it is hard to choose from the thousands of games on Steam. Please give me some opinions on games you like/games you think I should get. Thanks in advance. <3
EDIT Here is a list of the games I have: http://steamcommunity.com/id/wolsk/games?tab=all
EDIT I just decided that I don't really want another FPS because I have so many I still haven't played.
Please suggest some really good platformers, though, if you know any. :x
