I won this a week ago on here, and have it installed now. However, at first when I launched from Steam it wouldn't do anything. I restarted Steam and tried again. This time I got an error saying xlive.dll was not found which has to do with GFWL. I installed this and signed in with my hotmail account.

Now all I get is a black screen that freezes my PC and can only be shut down from Task Manager. Anyone experience this or something similar? Not sure what to do, and THQ I'm assuming has no support for this game now.

I would really love to try this game on PC, so please let me know if you know anything.

Update your catalyst drivers?

You have a pretty good pc there,

I'm sure you can run it smoothly.

steam causes it?
then.

Unchecked "Enable Steam Community in-game" under properties.
Just try to, some guys had this problem too.

That's what's so weird. Drivers are all recent as this is a new PC and I made sure to update everything. However, from what I've read it relies on GFWL and no matter what I do, the game won't load at all. It freezes once Steam minimizes

Uncheck steam community.

Doesn't seem to work. Verified the integrity of the cache and its fine. Steam runs the game, and then GFWL uses the CD-Key to verify it when I launch.

Try loading GfWL independently? I use it so infrequently I cannot remember if you can, but last time I had this problem it was two fold. GfWL had to update to download an update for the game or something.

There is nothing in GFWL. The marketplace tab is empty with a notice saying to check out xbox.com for the marketplace. the other tabs are my install directories and then a tab for my installed items. This is my first time using GFWL as I've been a console gamer exclusively.

A similar issue happened to me when playing Street Fighter x Tekken for the first time. I hadn't used GFWL in such a long time. Update GFWL separately, then try running the game and see if that helps?

EDIT: I looked again and can't figure out how I actually updated GFWL. I remember logging into the account and then it kicked me out to my web browser to do something, then it downloaded an update. Not sure if this is doable without the game prompting it to do so.

Did so, and its done nothing to get the game running. Not sure why this is so difficult. Never had issues before running a game.

I had simular problems installing GTA4. Fixed by going to xboxlive and creating/logging into my account.
Also, check this link to make sure xbox servers are up and running. If not you won't be able to login until they are working.

I had some issues running Guerrilla too .. first I couldn't set the right resolution and change the video settings, game wouldn't start after so I had to delete the config file to reset all settings for it to work again. To get over this I added a line to run the game in DirectX 9 instead of 10.. To do that you can right-click on your game in Steam, then go to Properties, then under the General tab click on 'Set Launch Options..', add the line '-nod3d10' in there (without the ' '). Not sure this will fix your problems but it might help.

This too hasn't worked. This is a pickle if I've ever encountered one.

I'm actually bookmarking this in case I run into anymore issues with GFWL in the future. Thanks Tsundere! :)

Thanks for this suggestion, however, it doesn't seem to work. I've even downloaded a demo to get something on the GFWL client and run RF:G again. Steam launched RFG launcher then UAC pops up asking for permission. Then a black screen when I click yes

Are you running any form of antivirus / Comodo Defense+ that might have hampered the install of the game / GFWL? Also, did you try running the game as administrator and also try running the game in compatibility mode > Vista / XP?

Only Microsoft Security Essentials. And yes to compatibility mode. As well as SP 1 + 2 for Vista/XP!

Thought about this but turning up a blank. One thing I can think of is editing ini or cfg files and turning off any form of physx effects, MSAA / FSAA / SSAO and the like, to see if that fixes anything, but that would take knowing what the commands in that game are for such. I've known this to be a fix for some games, before. Weird, this. :/

I can't even get in to access any options, and sadly I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to ini or cfg files. I really have no idea why GFWL is such a backwards step to take when you want to play :\

GFWL = always a step backwards. Buggy, unreliable, savegame corrupting piece of shit software.

Interesting. I'm wondering what the solution is.

I had issues with graphics of this game freezing and turning most stuff off from the menu helped. But if you can not even get to the options, it's quite tough. Perhaps, there's an .ini you could edit or something?
