As everyone knows the Steam store sends notifications when a game we put on our wishlist has some discount. Right?

From time to time I send copies of games that I like for family and friends so that we can play together (like Portal 2, Bordelands 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and games like that), or just so they can enjoy a fun solo game. The problem is that I have to look in the Steam store for each of these games to see if they have any discount that is worth buying...

There are so many Steam-related tools out there that I was wondering if there is one that creates a "second wishlist" which also send me notifications when any of these games are discounted on Steam or any other virtual store out there.

Somebody knows?

I use isthereanydeal.com to track prices and deals! It works fairly well. You can add games to a "waitlist" there and get notified when they are discounted under a price or percentage you choose.

I did not know the site and it seems really interesting. I've imported my Steam wishlist and now I'm adding the other games I want.

Thank you very much! : )

ITAD is more powerful than most people realize. The most obvious features beyond a Steam wishlist are that it can also:

  • Check for prices at stores other than Steam itself.
  • Check for prices on non-Steam versions of a game (such as games on GOG - you can filter it to watch for only Steam DRM).
  • See voucher (coupon codes) that apply to different stores.
  • See historical lows.

However, there are less obvious features that are most useful when you look at the Collection tab:

  • You can view a filtered list of games. For example, you could look at games you haven't played that have positive reviews that have cards. This can help you work through your backlog, and the functionality is similar to the Backlog Assassins site (Group recruiting topic on Steamgifts).
  • You can setup arbitrary tags and groups, letting you filter games by properties you associate with a given game, such as "horror" or "multiplayer." You can add notes, such as whether you won the game on SteamGifts, accessing it through Steam Family Sharing, or have a non-Steam copy of the game (such as one from Origin, uPlay, GOG, or Amazon Twitch Prime).

In addition to IsThereAnyDeal, there's also SteamPrices. It sends emails whenever a game is discounted, or you can set a threshold and if the game price goes below it, they will notify you via email as well. :)
