It is starting to look a lot like Christmas, well at least it's the right month now...and this means several things: Candy canes, eggnog, and of course, the next SG karaoke contest!

Welcome to the fourth SG karaoke competition. In a never ending effort to refine the contest there will be a few changes this contest. It will introduce the patron system and do away with the straw polls from the third contest. but more on that later. First the standard disclaimers.

A few things to note

1. all singers will be anonymous to prevent favoritism when it comes time to judge the contest
2. after the contest, I will reveal the identity of all contestants I have the permission to reveal.
3. Recording will be done on their own computers. I suggest audacity for this. the songs will be uploaded to a google drive google drive FAQ from the second contest
4. To verify authorship I ask that the singer to upload a vocal only track. if they want they may also upload a mixed track.
5. Singers may submit as many songs as they like.
6. These are your songs, I will take down any song at any time by the user request , I will also comply with any copyright take down requests if I revive them.
7. All participants should join the steam group which I will make as many giveaways as I can when the contest ends
8. I welcome anyone that would like to contribute to a prize pool more on that below.

On to the changes for this contest.

The patron system. I have no idea how well this will work, but I had an idea to add more community interactivity to the karaoke contest. People can request a song. and promise to make giveaway if someone covers it. You make requests by replying to the first post in this thread. The giveaways ace be for singers only or for anyone reading this thread. I will start out with a few examples so people can see what I mean.

Second change is that the Steam group is now public. Feel free to join to make your patron giveaways or if you wish to add to the prize pool. I will be changing the group to private and kicking all non singers the day after Christmas (Des 26) If you want the giveaway to be only for the singers set it's start time sometime after then. otherwise anyone visiting this thread feel free to join any group giveaway starting before then.

Thirdly i am doing away with the straw polls. Instead I will post a link to each song as a reply to the second post in this thread. if you like a song, or find it funny or just feel like it, post a comment to that song. a simple +1 will do. I'll use these comments to select the most popular songs.for the a vote at the end for the most popular song. I will buy the winner a game from their wishlist within reason (IE if your wishlist only has $60+ AAA games you may get bad rats, MUHAHAHA)

Note: You do not need to cover a patron song . You may sing whatever you like, just like the previous contests. the patron system is just somrthing extra for the people that want to participate in karaoke but do not want to sing.
