Hoping they don't fuck it up, honestly. Would really enjoy a well-made Ender's Game film.

I'm a huge Card fan, I've read just about everything he's written... but I'm really afraid for this movie... I have a feeling it is going to be terrible and scare this generation away from his work :(

I don't know, that poster is already making me doubt it - looks more like a kiddie version that has been watered and stripped down - just the poster mind you. Everything these days has to be PG-13 according to the studios...

EDIT: The screenshots didn't make me feel much better about it, although seeing Harrison Ford did...

God, can't believe someone thought that book was worth turning into a film >_<
It looks like they changed their mind about who plays the main character, by the looks. :o

Card did the script for the movie from both Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow. He made sure they do it right. At least that's what he said. Of course, the children needed to be older than in the books, 6 year olds are not good enough actors for this. At least they aren't in their twenties (as some studios originally wanted).

Even if I thought it looked good and was a big fan, I couldn't support it with my money. Card is a really terrible person. I won't rant about it and ruin the thread, but look him up if you're curious.

The whole series was an interesting read, hopefully they don't change too much of the plot for the movie

I've been excited about this film since it started shooting. OSC's been working very closely with the production and he personally approved the script.

Anyone who expects the books as a film will be disappointed. Especially considering it's going to merge two books (Ender's Game & Ender's Shadow). I like to view book-to-film productions as the same story happening in an alternate universe (I totally didn't steal that from Douglas Adamas >.>).

This film will bring a great story to a wider audience. Hopefully they'll seek out the books and get to experience the whole of the story.

The only thing I'm sad about is that the revelation at the end of Ender's Game will be known from the beginning of the movie. I'm sad about that because it was a wonderful personal experience when I figured it out, and got the satisfaction of being right.

Did anyone know Orson Scott Card has written the story lines/dialog to some video games?

I thought the ending of the book was horrible. Just my opinion though.

It'll probably be bad, but I loved the book so much that I'll have to see it regardless. And for all the people saying "don't watch it because Card's a nutter"... yea, he is. I applaud your conviction and also assume you don't use any of News Corp's services either (including anything FOX-related). Seeing as how Rupert Murdoch is also quite the nutter. It's too bad, the Simpsons is a pretty good show, you're missing out.

This was one of the series that was recommended to me in my book recommendations thread. Sooner or later I'll get to it haha!

The only Good Ender's series books were Ender's game and Speaker for the dead. Xenocide and the other one suck.
