I went full retard.
I was looking for an unpack button, but I just saw the emoticon in the chat. Didn't notice it's the emoticon for 'trading card', and not some random one generated after unpacking.

There are so many uses for it, especially when combined with the foil version.

It's like asking if there's any use for any of the emotes/cards/TF2 hats/TF2 crates/ ...
Valve just likes to shower us in useless things, but the fact that some people collect those things adds value to them (in the case of this emote is "only" 1 cent, but still).
Btw: same goes for real world stuff, like old currencies or stamped post card stamps, ...

The thing is, I didn't notice the item is the emoticon itself.

I've "one upped" Valve. I collect useless Steam gifts/things. (⌐■_■)
(Everything but Dota 2 now, I had 250+ copies that I dumped on the Dota2Bot last week... Got tired of having to scroll through them in my inventory when trading. >_<)

But do you have a CS:GO no longer valid Steam gift?
I've got two of those. (⌐■_■)

Yeah I was clicking on it expecting something else, like the ability to frame something in the middle of them... they're beyond useless. I use the spy icon all the time, but there's no reason I'd ever use a trading card icon.

The day they came out of beta I sold the blue one for 5 cents and the foil one for 61 cents :P
My reward for the beta: 66 cents, a badge and 100xp.

I'm going to hang on to it, likely in a month or so they'll be worth a bit more when there aren't as many to sell.

Is there any use for this? It seems to be simply wasting inventory space
