Me and my classmates are throwing a traditional "holy cow we're graduating this year" party and everyone has to suggest 10 songs to be played because our DJ unexpectedly left. I have pretty much no interest in music and only ever listen to what's currently hot in the radio and I need serious help because apparently nobody thinks pop is good.

I need at least 10 songs that could be played during the night. It should be something that my classmates (read: kids attending art high school that despise anything mainstream and do drugs sometimes) would accept. It can be anything though because according to our sound teacher, it should be diverse such as mixing techno with death metal...The party is in "The Great Gatsby" theme and some of the already chosen songs are for example the soundtrack from Pulp Fiction.

Any help is much appreciated ❤️

EDIT: Thanks for all of your suggestions, I'll check them out

If it were up to me, I'd choose to play the melodica cover of Jurassic Park's theme on loop all night. Sadly nobody irl appreciates memes :(

How about some modern songs set to 1920s Broadway with an amazing vocalist who can rap in Yiddish?

Maybe anything made by Animusic?
My favorite example: Harmonic Voltage
Be sure to check out their other stuff too. Surely at least one of them would fit. (their channel looks incomplete, so check related videos and playlists)

This definitely sounds like Electro Swing town. I haven't listened to much lately, but this one is really good.
Edit: Oh wait, take these two also.
Or a great option if you want to mess with them is Postmodern Jukebox. This cover in particular is wonderful. Best of both worlds, lol. And this one is even Gatsby style just for your needs. ;D

Have a lovely day, my Cake Day twin. o/

Swing some booties with Parov Stelar or Sing Three times more with Benny Goodman! Or you could just Get busy living with The Goldfish. Either way, you guys are going to have a lot of fun!

Mixing metal with techno? That sounds so Anti You ! I've always seen you as a Funk Soul Brother ! But hey, everyone has to go technologic nowdays, we're not the Gorillaz anymore.

"kids attending art high school that despise anything mainstream and do drugs sometimes" and "it should be diverse such as mixing techno with death metal"? Try just about anything by Amon Tobin.
