Ask for re-roll. Member may have acquired game prior to winning yours and did not sync account, err DLC, nevermind.
Still, no harm no foul, ask for re-roll.

Alright, thank you guys. Sorry for clogging up the forums, btw.

My father used to feed me and my brothers doggy bacon treats when we were little... They were surprisingly not bad.

I feel like DLC giveaways would be better done in the forums. I think people pay more attention to what they're entering over there.

I once had a soundtrack that would let people without the game enter. Had to get CG to recalculate the entry list. Lost several hundred entries, had about 40 left.

This one, Steam store page.
And the giveaway. And seems it was trimmed to 19 entries. Been a while. :P

I've never understood why you can see games that you already own anyway. If you're not supposed to enter those giveaways, then why are they viewable?

It's about DLC specifically. The post above mentions it.

I found that out (eventually...after manually hiding 50-plus titles). But I don't understand why it's even possible to enter those giveaways if you're not supposed to. At the very least, the default could be to have them hidden.
But I'm new here...what do I know. :-)
[EDIT: Apparently you CAN'T enter them...only the DLC because steamgifts can't verify if you have the DLC).

Games can't be entered, assuming they are active on your account and the site has synced.
DLCs can because Valve doesn't show most on your profile, so SteamGifts can't detect them as owned.

Thanks, yeah edited my post.
Maybe the site shouldn't let you enter a giveaway unless you've sync'ed with Steam in the past "X" hours where X is decided by the powers that be.

The site auto syncs weekly. It could be more often, but then people will find themselves unable to enter free weekend games if it was done daily.

Ah okay...Seems like it could be 48hrs or something, but weekly is better than nothing. :-)
Thanks for the reply.

You can filter them, but you cant enter them, but for some reason DLC's still show up.

Oh! I didn't realize you couldn't enter them if they were already in your library. That's good. I never tried.
I think maybe the default should be to hide them.

it's in the filter settings to hide them, I can see why it's not the default, I think complaints no matter what the defult are would be seen.

Thanks for the reply. What's the reasoning against making it the default? I'm sure it's well-thought out-- I just can't think off the reason off-hand...but I'm new.

Sort of related...maybe the site shouldn't let you enter a giveaway unless you've sync'ed with Steam in the past...48 hours? 24? It only takes a moment and prevents people from doubling up. Just a thought. Or is there already a feature like this?

The site syncs automatically every few days, if you have a private profile you are prevented from entering anything if you don't sync every so often, I think it's like 10 days .

Thanks for the reply. Someone else said the autosync was weekly. Seems generous (and the 10 day thing too), but at least it's there, no? :-)

it's based on all sorts of things , for me it seems every 3 days now that my profile is public. But when I was keeping my profile private it would lock me out of the site till I synced about every 10 days or so.

in case you own the gift - add person to friendlist, send via steam not to mail and it will show you that he owns it.
In case it's the key - do the same but try to buy DLC from store as a gift to send to him, it will show you if he own it or not, then empty cart.
If DLC is not longer in Steam Store and it's not a gift - sadly no way to check it :(

If you played Payday 2 during the free weekend on Steam it remains on your account for two weeks, not sure if you can do anything about it other than waiting...

Someone won my giveaway for the This War Of Mine War Child DLC, but he already owns it according to Steam, which I believe goes against the rules here...I think? I can't gift it to him anyways, Steam won't let me because he already has it, so should I request a new winner?
Edit: Was taken care of very quickly, thank you, support!
