Steam did the same exact thing, and it worked really well for them. They are rolling in the pennies generated from the card trades.

If it is anything like the over complex system that was discussed on SteamSocial before the update then level 1-2 is easy to get, after that the levels are banded with 10 the highest so it is possible to go up and down levels depending on your GA vs others.
Also you get cock all for bundle games so all the issues of unfair in high tier bundle games vs 90%+ off games still exists.
So along with all the normal questions about value expect "I was level 6 and now I am level 4 what gives" questions lol
