As in title, you can now ignore a publisher (or developer)'s entire library, stopping Valve's precious algorithms from showing them. You can still find them if you actively go searching for the titles/publisher names though. It actually works too!

To do so:

  • Pray that publisher has their publisher page set up
  • Click on publisher title.
  • On the publisher page. click the "options" icon next to the "report" flag, then select the ignore option (see image)
  • Done!

But now I hear you asking: What if the devs I loathe have not set up their publisher page ?
In that case: Too bad, no can do. Didn't expect Valve to implement something to help bury asset flips, achievement spammers, cryptominers disguised as games without half-assing it, did you now ?

So in order to hide a publisher said publisher needs to care enough to set their page but the "publishers" worth blocking are the ones that probably won't bother to set it?
That's not just half assing it, that's a new level of half assing it. Except if after that function goes out of beta all publishers will be forced to set their page.

Mandatory publisher pages, and a weekly "The Top 5 most ignored publishers get suspended from Steam" event. It's got potential!

'course, at the rate new trashware is being released these days, and given the apparent ease of creating multiple developer accounts, to be effective it'd likely have to end up being closer to top 5,000 instead. x_x

Knowing how valve wants the algorithms to run steam with minimal human input they could make it so the most ignored pages causes the related games to be buried as deep into the pile as possible and not be featured in the discovery queues.

Definitely a sensible approach. Which, of course, is why I'm not going to put any expectation into Valve adopting it. :P

Half-assing the half-assing ? Would that be quarter-assing it ?

I set my account to never suggest to me RPG Maker games and there are a lot of "publishers" who like to flood the Steam store with garbage and said garbage constantly gets peddled to me. I'm going to abuse the ever loving feck out this.
Thanks.

I wish they have option to show in steam store only games from selected publishers and hide the rest 20000+ "games"

Long time coming.
Paradox was my first, now I'd like to track down the large shovelware peddlers, is there any such a list available? I mean, like Ghost_RUS, those who have dozens of shit under their belt. Big fish of the shit pond.

Still doesn't work ideally, they show in search results but faded. When I filtered out tags, the top just said something like "Game1 and 500 others not shown because of your preferences" That would be preferable.

There is no page that list already blocked publishers though, at least I couldn't find one. Something similar to ignored list in preferences of the accounts would be nice.

Also can't wait till dev of Train Simulator gets publisher page, it's gonna be instant block :D

Edit - they do D: They didn't have separate page yesterday when I checked it. Yay \o/
