What's the point cap anyway? I was absent from site for a while. I left before levels were added. So I came back and I had lvl 4 and 400 points. Now I level up, but I don't have 500 points. Does everyone have a cap of 400 points (+ those of deleted giveaways)

The cap is normally 400 (regardless of level), however there is one way I know of to get more (temporarily). If you enter a giveaway and it later gets deleted, you'll get your points back for that giveaway. If you're at 400 when you get your points back, it'll make you go above 400, but only until you spend them and then you'll max out at 400 again. I've never gone up to 460, but I've logged in and been around 445 a couple times.

Technically there are a few ways. Yeah if a giveaway gets deleted but also you can stockpile a bunch of points into giveaways that are going to end in like, a month for instance and take them back at any time before it ends. You also might get points back if you were entered in multiple different giveaways for the same game and win on one of them, then SG should usually take your entry in other giveaways and give the points back to you to use elsewhere.

I'm curious, did you explicitly whitelist SG to show ads (to support it I presume) or are you browsing the web without an adblocker?

I whitelisted Steamgifts.
I'm not a Patron and after a while I realized that was the least I could do to support this great site.
Ads here are almost never intrusive so I guess I'm fine like this :)

I remember having the same problem at first. Back then, I had to disable an extension that hid the cookie acknowledge pop-ups.

Maybe you forgot that a ref link system for any shop link that you click, in the sg discussion threads and comments, are active too.
And auto enabled, if you don't switch that actively to off.
So i assume you do two things to support cg.

In all honesty, I doubt cg could buy a single espresso out of the cut gained from the referrals I used.
I rarely make purchases on HB, Fanatical, GMG, or Gamersgate. My outbound click rate here is basically directed to Steam to check about games I don't know.
