EDIT: Well he banned for 2 weeks since he is regifting the gift he won, thank you for all the reply, it is helpful and i really appreciate it

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The End-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all, thanks for watching this thread (i know it may be dumb or silly or just bored but pls be kind to read through it, tq)

Things are like this, i won a game as usual , check mail, got email from steam , open, click the link

Then the problem started, the page shows this :
"Oops, sorry!
An error was encountered while processing your request:

This gift has already been redeemed."

I added the creator of this giveaway to have a conversation with him, i tell him what i faced, and he tried to understand what i m saying, but he seems like i m lying or else, he just make me feel i m a lier...

Next, he keeps saying that he want to do a repick of winner of this giveaway, i told him no, because i want to ask others people whether they encounter this problem or i just want some time to check this problem at steam support

But he said he is in hurry to level up, so that he is able to join fallout 4 giveaway (lol, i really dont know what to say at that time)

So i just leave him to be able to do a request for new winner for this giveaway,

Actually i need to go out to buy some essential item, but i spent lots of time with him, in the end i tried to keep him in my friend list so that i can contact him if i found the solution for this problem, but he refused ( ok nvm if u refuse to do so... i cant force u :/ , so he removed me in the end)

This is our chat history if u r interested,It is really really really interesting, here is it :

Interesting!

After a few hours, i check the giveaway again, and he blacklisted me. [o.O] ?

┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ،_ ┻━┻

So what should i do next ???

hey, i have had people tell me they cant properly receive games through email so its possible that there was a legit error

if he sent a game and it is unclaimed it will still be in his inventory and that specific copy that he sent should say "sent to <persona>) somewhere in its description, meaning its been sent but not accepted yet, he should look there for it, if its not there and he claims you have it then it will be in his gifting history

all in all if he is gifting a copy of the game the burden of proof lies in his gift history page, if he cant produce that you have received it he wont get away with a simple explanation

"Rachelsfg: You choose if you want to add the game to your library or to your inventory. It's not automatically redeemed."
I have not seen this for myself yet. Every time I have gifted a game DIRECTLY FRIEND TO FRIEND (not sent to their email), when they hit accept it automatically adds it to their account. So im not sure exactly how he sent you yours but thats some of what I know.

Going to have to send a gift to my girlfriends account directly sometime while shes not on and see if Steam sends some type of email with a link to accept it and see how exactly that goes. I must know >.<

Firstly, thanks for reply on this thread. :D

Maybe he doesn't have the experience in this, and he seems like doesnt want to see my gift history

Yes it is not auto redeemed, therefore i will request him to resend the gift

lol ur gf... there is 2 ways to send the gift one is through steam client (but this required both of the sender and receiver are friends),
while another way is through email (the sender doesnt have to be a friend of the receiver , but they will be friend after the receiver clicked the link)

So u can check ur gf 's email, there should be a mail from steam inform u about someone had sent u a gift ! :)

The screenshots do not have the date and time. One of them 5600 notification and the other 6300 already, then they are made at different times.

i was surprised at you 5000+ notifications o.o and a 2-weeks ban isn't enough in my opinion
and that's why i think key-GAs are better then gift-GAs, when i do a Gift-GA i link the Gift to the GA-Page

Haha, the notifications :]

Well i dont know about the procedure of this site, but my friend told me that he will be permanently ban from here if he do this again, so i think its fine

Actually is similar, they can trade the key or say the key is duplicated (so i think key-GA will also faced this problem)

And thanks for watching this thread :)

I checked my GA record yesterday looking for something, and I noticed one of the first GAs I created was marked as not recieved, and I'm very sure it was marked correctly before. I checked the winners games list though and he doesn't have the game, so I checked the giftlink I provided to him and it had been redeemed. My guess is that he gave the link to a friend or something. It's weird that he wouldn't have contacted me if there was any problems, but since I have no proof or anything I'm not sure I can contact support about it.

Can they see if a GA has been marked one way, and then changed later?
