Games used to check if certain files were loaded from a separate drive/the root of a drive or not. Some old ones flat-out expected to be loaded from D:. Some expected to read certain files from specific file systems, and emulating helped there.
Also, ISO is a standard now, but back then NRG and IMG were more widespread, and you couldn't unpack those that easily.

It was the format used for Nero Burning ROM. I don't know what advantages it offered, although I think it was smaller than IMG and ISO files. (Also, I don't really recall seeming (m)any ISO files until the early 2000s. IMG was a lot more common, I just deleted my last one of them after Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom was released a few days back on GOG.)

It's software for Windows 95 / 98 that allowed you to view things in higher resolution. Waaay back at the time, it was popular because it allowed you to run an SNES emulator - I think it was ZSNES? - on those operating systems.
Nowadays the company has been out of business for ages, although ironically the software is still used by people in the emulation community... but this time by people emulating Windows 95 / 98 systems, who want the ability to run older software at the native resolution for their monitor.

Anyone have any experience with System Mechanic ? Looks promising, I might grab 1$ tier just for it.

All I can say is that I have never seen any kind of "system boost/maintenance" program in the past 20 years that actually did anything meaningful. If you really want to mess around with things in your Windows OS that don't have an (easy-to-access) GUI, then just get the freeware Ultimate Windows Tweaker. To keep your system "clean", use the freeware CCleaner and maybe Wise Registry Cleaner, and that's about it.

Thanks for the warning, I was about to install it. 1$ wasted.

I think there's more information in my thread but it's totally up to you ;)

Meh, I don't know. I was going to make a chart and so on but it doesn't feel right since your thread was first. I can put the code to the chart here so you can add it to the OP if you want, and close my thread. It seems you'll actively update this if there are news (unlike other threads that put some basic bundle information and then aren't updated at all).

3DMark retail keys do activate on Steam. I know this because I got coupon with my previous GPU.
Seems like PCMark 8, VRMark do not, you can link to steam account via website.
Can I activate my existing "standalone" 3DMark, VRMark or PCMark 8 product key on Steam?
Yes, this is possible. Just add your Advanced Edition key to the Steam client with "+Add a Game..." then "Activate a Product on Steam". Remember that the key will then be permanently tied to the Steam account it was applied to. For 3DMark Time Spy upgrade key and VRMark key, you can add them to a Steam account via 3DMark.com account under "Settings" and placing your key to the appropriate field. This requires linking your 3DMark.com account with your Steam sign-in.
Doesn't answer about PCMark 8 tho :P

So you get keys working on steam for all the **Mark software?
I'll add it to the thread

I want Winzip!!
I actually had too look it up to see if they were still making it... apparently they do.
Comment has been collapsed.
I still use it. And it has a free version, you just get a message that you can close every time you use it. I would get annoyed by it if it was my first time using it, but I got so used to using WinRar over the years that I just can't use 7-Zip at all...

Winrar! Haha or people just use the free version of winrar! (with the ennoying upgrade pop-ups)

Am I the only person on this Earth who owns a license?
Mind you, mine is for version 4.20 (just blaze it!!!1) while the current one is 5.40.... http://www.rarlab.com/rarnew.htm

I was going to start with BackBlaze anyway, so it's worth it for the free six months.

I want EaseUS and Daemon tools myself as someone who has used them in the past and they are still superior to the ones built into windows. Hoping to see them hit Tremor, but not planning on paying cash for them.
Honestly still feels more like wanting them for nostalgia more than anything as I have gone 100% legit on everything years ago and honestly have very little use for them nowadays.

Others: NO! ^.^

So, general question about the usefulness of the software. I have a Windows 8.1 machine. I've used a free version of EaseUS to deal with partitioning and cloning multiple hard drives over the years, and I still use DAEMON Tools Lite to play .ISO files as if they were normal DVDs or whatever.

When I was checking my Humble Bundle purchases I noticed the following for AirParrot 2:
Note: Key is valid for up to two separate purchases of the Single Computer License. You must redeem your AirParrot 2 key by August 14th, 2017.
Haven't noticed this before, so I thought I'll tell you, in case you haven't seen this as well.
