I'm new here and I just got a bunch of points overnight. My friend explained that everytime somone starts a giveaway you get 1 points and that makes sense but I registered yesterday and logged on again today and all of a sudden I had 300 points. It's been 20 hours since I was on last and I had about 10 or so points then. Why did I suddenly get so many?

20 hours is a long time. I'm usually at 150-200 just overnight, you got an extra 12 hours on me so theres the extra 150pts.

So obvious that the OP even answered the question before asking it. Confusing post.

i was surprised too at the point regeneration.

Maybe, and thats a strong maybe, the point regeneration is too high? If it were lower then members would have to really think about the games they entered to win. Another idea would be to make points regenerate for everyone, but one could have a higher rate based on amount contributed?

Considering the amount of points is based on the amount of new giveaways, it just self-regulates. Of course now with everyone going crazy with the bundle keys, it's pretty hard for me to spend all 300P everyday. They reproduce like rabbits!
But don't involve contributor points in this. It only leads to more contributor value exploits involving bundle keys and beta keys... and sometimes even shit like "this is a giveaway for BF3, it's an Origin account with only BF3 so I'm giving you the account and password mmkay?".

It used to be slower, but recently they allowed people to giveaway keys. Since then I've noticed myself reaching 300 everyday if I don't keep entering giveaways.

I expect it to slow down eventually as old keys are given away.

It used to be more, they lowered the generation value per giveaway created a while back, but your referring to the number of giveaways created.
