On HumbleBundle I have some games still not activated on Steam. The early ones I clicked redeem Steamkey on, but some not. (edit: I didn't activate them on Steam, just clicked redeem on HB).
My questions are:
If I have clicked to redeem a key on HB, is it locked to my Steamaccount, or is it still free to make a giveaway of?
Second: to make a giveaway of a non-redeemed game on HB, I should mark it as a gift on SG, and after the drawing click the gifticon in HB and mail it to the winner in SG?

And sorry, english is not my native language, thus the lengthy post, I need to make sure you understand me :/

If you are sure you didn't use them, they are still active and you are able to make GA's for them :)
No, you mark it as key when you create giveaway and a little window will open where you copy paste the key it into, when the giveaway is over you check so winner haven't broke any rules then press "send" and they will get it on their won page. :)
Edit: And your english is just fine, understand you fully!

As long as the key has not been redeemed to your steam account, you can still give it away (as a key), it's not locked to your account.

And you should treat it like any other key when you make a giveaway for it (same with humble gift links, by the way, you can do key giveaways with those)

So I just click to show me the key, and paste in the GA here on SG? NICE! Thanks :)

you can send the games as keys in sg or add people to give them the code.

  1. It is free to make a giveaway.
  2. When you make a giveaway on SG, it is required to include the CD key. It detects how many keys you copied. After giveaway ends, keys will be given out randomly. You can change keys before and after the giveaway ends.

Let me see if I understood: HB gives you two options that I know of. Redeem on steam (It means it will show you the key and you have to manually go to steam and add the game) and Gift Link (which will give you a link you can send people and they can get the key that way). If you clicked the "Redeem" key on HB, you should see the key, which if you haven't activated it on steam, should be free to give away. If you want to give away the key, simply select "Key" option when making the GA, otherwise you will have to mail the link to the winner, just like you said.

Edit: Ooops, too late.

Thank you all for answering me, and I understand now that my HB-purchase is not bound to my Steamaccount. And if I may ask, is it the same with Indiegala? I might have a few games there too that I've been afraid been "locked" to my Steamaccount. I get that feeling :/ Hopefully, I can give the IG keys here too then?

If you have keys from your IG purchases and they are unused then they aren't locked to your account. I've done loads of giveaways with such keys from IG bundles and it has been fine.

My account is linked to Steam, but my purchases surely aren't locket to Steam. That's what I'm hoping, cause I have some games on them HB & IG that I don't feel for, but have been afraid to post here to not get banned. :) Thanks fellas!
