Playing Anno 1800 Beta right now and its not that relaxing as previous were. But its good and its beta still.
My fav was 2205 and I've played it twice. Highly recommend

I dont find the previous ones relaxing, I stress about troops attacking me. Lol~ Perhaps I was just bad at the game but it was really enjoyable. XD

Indeed, one of the positives of the attacks is I do focus and rush my economy faster. It ruins part of a fun as you mentioned but it also allow early economical growth. Once I get sufficient troops, I focus on fine tuning the buildings. I still prefer the game to have troops as it gives a sense of belonging for my island or else, I'll just take my time building and run out of funds quickly. As mentioned in my other reply, will really appreciate landscaping since its a tiny island at times. Overall its been fun, naval battles are one of the aspect I look forward to. Cheers~

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding, but if you created a group for this, why are you making the giveaways Invite Only and not Group?
No one can join an Invite Only GA, if they don't know its URL and unlike Group GAs, you don't automatically get access to them unless their creator (you) shares them somewhere.

my guess he / SHE simply wantS to avoid people, who join the group and then go offline in the hour it needs till the giveaways end.
with 5 minutes the chances are way smaller. and that works only via invite only and not via group

no you dont.. the people who look at the group in the timeframe can enter. the ones who dont read and udnerstand that the giveaways will be posted on the last few minutes cannot. simple as that.
