And I doubt it
is the best you're going to get at the moment. I can't recall a similar scenario where someone would have been able to attempt what you are asking. But, using common sense, it seems unlikely to work.

BIOSHOCK ON STEAM: If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den on Steam, the remastered version for the corresponding title will automatically show up in your Steam library as a separate gam
So it should be fine

I thought you were asking if you would get it even if you only own Bioshock 2.
If you really want to get the remaster for the 1 as well, you could try to trade for it. It's been on Humble Bundle so you should be able to get it relatively cheap.

That's a risk to take, I don't think you'll be able to find out before the remaster is released.

to redeem what? the gift? when i click add to my library it says "This is a restricted gift which can only be redeemed in these countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam
In addition, if you decide to redeem this restricted gift, you can only play it within the countries listed above. Note that using an IP proxy or other methods to disguise the place of your residence to activate this gift is a violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement and may result in restrictions on this Steam account." but i still have an option to click add to my library,so i can?

that is a fair question, but i do not believe even valve themselves could answer it. i think only the developer would know the answer to that really. it could very well be possible that the dev just complimentary licenses all the people that own said copies of games the remastered in row form, or they may very well go on a license by license (types/regions) scenario and each be locked to equivalent regions.
its one of those things that really could go either way tbh. safest bet would ofc be redeeming a version intended for your country (or row).

"BIOSHOCK ON STEAM: If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den on Steam, the remastered version for the corresponding title will automatically show up in your Steam library as a separate game." that one (from the bioshock steam announce) seems clear, we get all we own, and nothing but what we own.
My only question would be what happens if i buy Bioshock (not remastered) after the upgrade, if i would get the remake or not (i mean, if i buy those keys for sale at humble bundle).
Whatever happens, im happy with this free upgrade thing
