Which one do you prefer?
I own, and have played, both versions. The DC integrates the DLC which was nice cause now the mission on board the ship isn't detached from the game itself. Plus I enjoyed the audio commentary.
So I voted for the DC version, but your milage may vary.

Well, Director's Cut has betters boss battles [they still feel out of place, but are slightly better than in vanilla]], Missing Link DLC incorporated [~4 hours long, quite nice] and steam cards. Vanilla version is a bit more stable and has this signature golden tint [which is nice IMO]
All in all, I'd say go for the director's cut if you don't have the missing link already.

The original is the better version, if you have it with all the DLCs and The Missing Link expansion. But if you don't then play both versions or just the DC version to also enjoy the DLCs, although I still think the original looks much better, and is bugs-free, unlike the glitched DC version. I completed the original and never had any problem with the boss fights and never understood what the problem was with them... (:P). I have both versions, although the original is the Ultimate Edition, with some extra bonuses not found in the Director's Cut version.

Bosses fights were problem when you were playing as "No weapons, no kills" character - you simply couldn't win them without breaking that rule.
DC fixed it a little bit, allowing you to keep "no weapons" rule, but you still had to kill those bosses - you just used turrets/robots you hacked, instead of your own hands.
Pretty sure all weapons from DLCs were integrated into DC and all you didn't get was free money (aka cheat).

By "extra bonuses not found in the DC version" I meant the motion comic and the (amazing) soundtrack, and I think a few extra videos too. Those were included in the Ultimate Edition I bought from GamersGate, a couple of years ago: http://www.gamersgate.com/DDB-DEHRUE/deus-ex-human-revolution-ultimate-edition-bundle
Also, thanks for explaining that issue with the bosses in the original version. Didn't know about that... (:P)

I hate when developers play games with game editions... Either patch the original, or release Director's Cut as DLC, don't sell it as a totally different game. Metro Redux is another title that pisses me off. I already own the original why do I need to buy it again?
I didn't vote, but it really depends on whether you want Missing Link DLC. It's a fairly long extra mission which avoids the problems with the base game, but it doesn't really add anything to the story. So up to you...

You sound like you're afraid Director's Cut will replace old version, nope, Director's Cut doesn't replace old one, you will have both of them, side by side.
You can safely redeem it if that's your only concern.
Only really good improvement from Director's Cut are commentaries, allowing you to hear more about game-dev. Being able to kill bosses in different way is nice, but nothing superb.

The changes Director's Cut makes to the bosses was really underwhelming. I know boss battles were a big complaint in vanilla, but I actually prefer them to what they made them into in DC. They just seemed tacked on changes and not fully thought out like they were in the original Deus Ex.
So I'd say vanilla. Director's Cut is worth a playthrough but I'd never play that version again.

Played both. Many people say that DC have many bugs but I'm didn't see any. And DC have Missing link that is very big plus. The only minus in DC, IMHO, that developers remove yellow filter from game. Video for example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGB27zgAcDU

I currently own Deus Ex HR base game and since the seperate DLC's are removed from store, the only way to get the DLC's is purchasing Director's Cut version. But I read a lot of negative comments about Director's Cut update and before redeemng it over base game, I wanted ask for your opinions guys. Should I redeem it or just enjoy the vanilla version?
