Some talk about it on the Steam NV forum. Sounds like it's not really 9GB.

Personally i think steam is shit since they changed to this supposed better update system. I have been downloading huge patches and re-downloading a ton of games, up to 12GB. It also scans the full hard drive now every time you log in and collects information from ALL drives.

noticed it myself, bought a game and went to do a remote install of it, and it said it was already downloading a new vegas update of 9.2GB. nothing shows up anywhere online about a new patch though, i doubt it's actually a patch...

Nah. I had this, and immediately verified the game cache.
After a few minutes of checking, it turned out to be a glitch, and there was just one file (a couple of MB) to download.
Steam needs to stay away from the Eggnog....

Is there a way to not redownload completely the game? (i have a download size limit and dont wanna redownload 7go since i just download 7go this month to play this game...) seriously, if there's no way, that sucks..
