Wire Mouse vs Wireless Mouse
I really don't like having to change batteries or charge things that sit on a desk. I don't think I will ever buy a wireless keyboard or mouse unless it is for something like a home theater PC. Even if wireless can match wired in terms of latency and other performance metrics, it just doesn't make sense to me.

I would still prefer to use a wired mouse, it just seems simpler to me. I also prefer to not use a mousepad unless I am playing a competitive shooter like Counter Strike. My desk has a fake marble laminate that is really smooth and works great without a mousepad. I don't like the restricted size of a mousepad and I wouldn't want one that covers most of the desk because it would get dirty from doing things like eating, working on greasy parts, soldering, sharpening knives.

I've owned my current wireless mouse since March 2018, and I only had to change batteries once so far.

Wired with some additional buttons for keyboard actions.
Usually a logitech because they have a good sensitivity but are relatively cheap.

For gaming it doesn't matter.
The best wireless out there matches the best wired ones, this is not an issue anymore. The biggest reason for not going Wireless is the prices. I own a G Pro Wireless and i won't go back to wired any time soon, but not everyone is willing to pay the premium (i got it in heavy discount so i don't care).

If you're on a laptop, then a wireless mouse is basically the only choice. You don't really want to be the goofball in the public who has his long wire dangling and taking space.
If you're on a PC, then you'll most likely want a wired one, since there won't be issues with power and connection.

Personally, I prefer wired all the way with a braided USB cable. But go with whatever suits your needs and preference as there are many different kinds to choose from.
Whatever mouse you decide to go with, you may want to make sure it fits the size of your hand as well as gripping style. If looking to buy a mouse online, I strongly suggest going to computer tech stores and trying out the many types of gaming mice to see what fits you best. Also check which sensor the mouse has. Based on the mouse pad/mat you have or are planning to get... you definitely want one that tracks well depending on the surface of the pad.

That one was pretty predictable though: the thread was dedicated to a Firefox issue, so of course the majority of the people who opened it were the ones using Firefox. Or did I miss something, and there was another poll?

I just want the typical chinese wired mouse, since they are usually the most durable. I've had mine for at least 4 or 5 years.
Edit: I have to admit that I've had good experiences with wireless mouses too. Specially with the heavy ones. I know most people want a light mouse, but for some reason I play videogames A LOT better with heavy mouses, so yeah, that's a plus for me.

I use a Logitech M560, and have only changed the battery once in 2 years. It works well, but I'd rather one with adjustable DPI for certain games.

I will never forget the guild mate whose wireless mouse died on him right as he jumped into a group of high-level mobs. It went as well as you'd expect.
Wired mouse only. Even if the wires annoy me at times, at least I know I can rely on it.

The main reason I am using wired is that wireless is usually heavier with the batteries however I am still using an old Orochi that can be both so that I didn't have to buy another one for my laptop. I have never used it wireless for gaming fearing that it might cut out or lag but that was a decade ago, I assume the wireless mice have improved by spades nowadays.
Rather than wireless vs wired, I think there are other more important considerations to what you want to do with your mouse instead, such as DPI, macro keys, weight, comfort, portability, cost etc.

Wireless, unless I'm playing Counter-Strike... but I haven't played that seriously in probably a decade or so.
Wires would always get in the way, or drag awkwardly across the back edge of the desk.
I use my mouse (Logitech MediaPlay) as a "remote" for music and shows, holding it similar to the way you'd hold a TV remote.
Battery life is months long, even though I leave it on all the time, so that's not really an issue.
I wouldn't mind getting a wired / wireless combination mouse in the future, but I'm too attached to the old MediaPlay to give it up for anything else I've ever tried in a store.
