There's a program called "IdleMaster"? that will simulate u playing the games to afk gain cards. Not sure if it still works but I have used it a few months ago and gained around 200+ cards from random games from humblebundle and stuff.

Most people buy HB for the sole purpose of hoarding them. So for them the cards are sort of an additional discount on their quest of fat libraries.
But strictly saying, yes, buying a game only to farm cards off is like paying a lot more for the cards.

I buy humblebundles for the games in it, not for cards I might get, Say the current one... There's is 13+ games and only maybe 4 games I would actually play. So in the past I would just activate all them and never play the ones that look bad.

It's not illegal, it's just unofficial.
Something like Steam Achievement Manager is not really legal, Idle Master is totally ok. It's not like Valve cares about your playing time and/or cards dropped, as long as you didn't idle just to get a refund for a game (by now it's quite impossible, as only people who didn't ask for a refund at all can get all the drops within the first 2 hours of playing time).
It's quite unusual to find someone like you who idled its way to $30+ without idle master.
Anyway, nobody has ever been banned or whatever using Idle Master. Even VAC enabled games can be idled with IM.
To be VAC banned you must be in a VAC enabled server. Idle master does never ever connect to an in-game server, it does not even open the game itself, it simulates the game being open!

- Download Idle Master
- Start Idle Master
- Wait 2 years for games to give u all the cards
- Sell the cards by clicking them for 3 hours
- Wait until all are sold
- Wow finally we got 30$
Totally not how i got 60$ on steam aswell but it takes ages though believe me :)
I always buy games that i had on CD with that card money. Obviously like most CDs they died....
Especially with the new policy u have to wait 2-6 hours for each game not really worth it even with idle master.
Before that policy it was worth doing it but now just nope idling 2 games each day now instead of like 30 each day.....

Idlemaster, if set accordingly, will idle all your eligible games at the same time for 2 hours, then each of them individually.for the drops.
I usually start it before I go to bed, and by the time I'm back from work the next day it's done it's job.

Errm... he could just use Idle Master since it only imitates the games running and doesn't actually run them, so it would use less electricity.

It is true that IdleMaster needs almost no CPU power, but the idle power draw of most systems, even over laptops, is higher than most mini-PCs, especially if they use the Intel low-power chips. I mean I'm writing this on a mini-PC that uses a 2957U: a CPU that needs less power on 100% load than the popular i5 4690K on idle.

^ What Hikkomi said. Take a look at your last electricity bill. If the power charges by idling cards/CS:GO add up to more then the cost of GTA5, then it obviously isn’t a good business model.

Still...a busy CPU draws more power than an idle one no matter if you minimize them and do other stuff you still have a larger power draw than if you only do your "other stuff"

That's cool that you don't pay for electricity, but most people do. And it adds up to be quite a bit if you constantly idle games with a CPU pinned for power draw all the time.
