Why are you so afraid of rebooting your PC?

You can also download some kind of bootable antivirus (avira, kaspersky...) because if your computer is alredy infected, a regular antivirus is useless (since the malware probably will go into memory before the antivirus, so the antivirus cant detect them)

Yeap, in last comment EsE write a good thoughts - i think you must try to use more antivirus
in the past month my PC has been infected by someone cryptovirus (cryptominer), and ONLY 1 of 4 antivirus program discover him (3 of 4 don't detected him)
Try to use Kaspersky, NOD32, AVZ64, Dr Web Cureit - all of this has cool free utility or trial version
And clear all cash, try to update (delete/install) all drivers (motherboard firstly)

90% of the time I found its the last thing you installed. So go back and check those. Also if the internet stuff is slow.... check your modem?

Also, you could try booting into UBCD or Hiren's Boot CD (USB or CD) and run a antivirus from there.

Haven't seen mentioned, but try running ADW Cleaner too. Fixed a fair few slow systems when I've repaired laptops.

Have to forgive, but like many, I also laughed at using McAfee. The guy who made the thing in the first place was arrested as a person of interest in a murder spree, and the anti-virus itself had been flagged up as a virus itself many times, since it was proven to drastically slow down a number of computers.

I won't advise on anything else to use instead. But majority of the time, anything else is better. There are many options, each with good and bad points. Majority of the time these days I'll let Windows 10 just install Defender, since it holds up well compared to prior versions.

Also, if enabled, try running a System Restore to a week prior. But do a manual back up first encase of other issues.

If you have access, try running a Live Boot CD of Linux, such as Ubuntu. You'll be able to see straight away whether its a physical issue or software one.
