Who cares? This is even less relevant than the NA version because the company in charge of it is notorious for making games even more Pay to Win than they were in other regions. I saw someone on PSO World mention that in another game they localized, they made it so that costumes could only be rented for 30 days with real money instead of being able to buy permanently them with real money or with ingame currency. Some people are even speculating that they'll change the EXP curve back to what it was with the original 41+ curve where every single level was DOUBLE the EXP for the previous level and if they had kept that curve then people at the current 65 cap STILL wouldn't have enough EXP to be at lv 50.

Just stick with the Japanese version. The english patch works great and there's virtually no reason to even consider any other version.

Edit: Also, if anyone is interested in playing Japanese PSO2, here's some guides and helpful tools to do that:

Just English patch the JP version. Sega is doing a great job of running it, so I wouldn't try a third party localization team, even if they offer English or closer servers. In my 200+ hours of PSO2, I never had any major issues with the JP servers because I was in the US, except for the database issues that affected everyone.

Well I wouldn't say they're doing a great job. They've made a LOT of mistakes... But I'm sure it will be better than anything SEA or the US can put out...

But they're pretty good at fixing them, and as far as MMO servers go, I've had relatively few gripes with PSO2. Not perfect, no. However, the integration of the F2P model and most of the content is satisfactory and I can enjoy the game even without the English patch (I used to play without it, before the patch released). Localization companies are rather hit or miss on the F2P thing.

No, I wish I learned Japanese because then I could watch anime without having to worry whether or not the subs are good. I don't need to know Japanese to play PSO2 because there's an English patch.

But are the subs in PSO2 English patch good? I'm worried already.

Yes. Plus even if they weren't, the story sucks. But all of the menus and stuff are translated perfectly.
