i meant just for general gaming rather than the most demanding games out there

to be honest i didn't measure fps that much, but i think it stays above 50fps in games like battlefield 3 and tomb raider 2013.
i don't think the TI its worth the extra money.

Dude, as far as i know, and i'm not some kind of specialist or someone that goes crazy about this hardware stuff, the difference is that the TI series is overclock, like always, so, I think that it's worth it, you have this unleashed monster for 70 bucks more.

I would prefer usual 660 - a very balanced GPU. I would recommend 660 or 670 if you wanna get next level in performance (670 OC = 680, btw).

Hm, it's not worth the 70$ but it's a really good GPU.
I have a GTX 660 Ti, and it's really good, but it's your choice.
I think it gives you about %10/%5 more performance.

I'd recommend the 670 if you want an Nvidia card that will last long since both have low memory bandwidth and newer games are going to be more demanding for that.. Get a 7950 if your budget is around $300.

And the difference between 660 and 660 ti isnt that much.

20 FPS ? I think not.

The 660TI is the same card as the 660 only that it comes more OC than that 660 OC variants.

It's true I have 670 OC run like 680 reference (core , memory speed), of course texture filtrate rate a higher on 680 and more cuda cores.

Unless you happen to have a pressing need for Nvidia op for an AMD 7950 the GIGABYTE GV-R795WF3-3GD to be precise same price than the ti and significantly better

You would be right, if I had recommended a shapphire 7850/7870 wich are kinda rubbish the rest are ok. Or better said, you have equal chances of an Nvidia or a AMD going bad.
