So...my pc has been on its death bed (shhh dont say I said so >_>) for about a year now, CPR and luck has done well so far :p. Anyway that may not be enough some time soon.

I'm lazy to go shop around to build a rig, so of course the idea the Alpha looked quite good as a no fuss fix. (Deep down I know better lol)

Thoughts?

I bought an alienware back before Dell bought them and I'll never buy one again. Then again I do build my own now so I wouldn't buy a pc from anyone. The case was cool and all but it wasn't worth it.

Alienware
Worth it

You might as well get a Mac at this point if you're going to burn money. At least you'll get something functional.

Mac, what if... he wants his pc mostly for gaming, what do?

I say build your own stuff, if you need help making a build, ask for it and save yourself some money. You can ask a store to build everything for you if you buy the parts there, i did that because i hate that stuff. I like to take things apart, but i dislike putting them together again.

For the love of god no... if you NEED to buy prebuilt at least go with an NCIX or originPC prebuilt... do not give in to the alienware nonsense... also if your looking for a tiny form factor pc for the living room there are MUCH better options then the alienware... keep in mind due to the tiny form they perform like shit no matter what the specs as they dont have sufficient cooling space

i was curious about the alpha as well, and like the OP i'm not interested in doing the dirty mounting work. would you share some of the much better options for a small form factor gaming pc (available in good old europe)?

Definitely not, I would rather go build a PC myself.

i feel you there ;) I know a lot of spec's friends that work better then alienware. And those specs were much more cheap then alienware.

No, they are way too expensive for what they offer, it is always overpriced.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll check out the suggestions but they might just end up being inspiration for a custom build.

Alienware computers are so much overpriced!
You can build your own pc from ncix or newegg and prices are good.

If you are too lazy to build your own PC, pay some friend of yours do it for you. You'll still be saving money while picking your own parts and he's getting some money and fun out of it.

Don't buy there. Most sites that offer "special gaming pcs" are rip-offs.
