Give power to people, (the power of blacklisting in this case) and they will use it anytime they can under any excuse.
Pretty common behavior around the world. Even if its something nonsensical like in this case, it fits under that premise.
Personally, the people who are object of this kind of silly and harmless humor and feel "offended" those are people I don't want to have any kind of contact with. So if you find people like this IRL at least you know you don't want anything with that person (If you share my point of view of course).
If any of those blacklisters feel utterly offended by my words, feel free to blacklist me and you can also make me witchery, voodoo, and all the stuff you want, it will still be meaningless to me.

Seems to me like you feel "offended" by people blacklisting people for criteria you don't agree with. The reality is a user can blacklist another user for any reason, and different people have different reasons.

Not really unfair. The rule is that begging is not allowed. Whether it's a joke or not doesn't matter.
If so, people would simply say "it was a joke" as an excuse to evade a ban. See it like a pickpocket getting caught in the act by a cop, and the pickpocket saying "it was just a joke" in order to be released. :P
Furthermore, there's no sure way to know whether or not a person is joking or not, especially on the internet.
