Will you buy the lottery ticket?
If I win, I'll buy everyone in this thread a copy of Bad Rats.

That would be so painful to me, because I can't run AAA games ;_;

most of our winners (brazil) are like that today... they have less than they own before.

How can someones lottery tickets not be paid for? Can you just order them upfront and pay later? Never heard of such thing :O

I think it's something like you're automatically entered into however many tickets you buy each month or so. They just take it from your bank account. But I guess he still got the tickets even when they couldn't deduct anything from his account.

Damn, that's crazy (and robbery at the same time - automatically buying lottery tickets??)

the winning odds are etremely low to non existent, but still I would buy because it is not that much money and somebody has to win, right!?
So why not me! Too bad I don't live in the US!
But let's face it: it IS throwing away money!
Apparantly the chances of getting struck by lightning are even bigger! Go figure.....

Lottery is only a way to lose money in long term. Trust me, I'm a statistican (soon).

If $700 million multiplied by chance of winning > $2 then Yes, otherwise No
(i.e. if chance of winning is higher than 1:350.000.000 then your expected outcome is positive)
I don't know the actual odds but it might be possible :) in which case you can statistically defend any # of tickets you buy, assuming you don't take into account the risk of having to share the jackpot (not sure how to calculate this but it should theoretically be possible, just a great deal more complicated)

As long as it's only one ticket and it doesn't become a habit, don't see why not. Wasting 2$ once in a blue moon won't make you broke.

I only get depressing ones about people on their death bed wanting to randomly give me a ton of money.

Geez... I wish I could participate. Might have triple citizenship options but don't think I could flip my flag in time!

The next drawing will be this Saturday Jan 9th so the prize will increase even more.
How are you feeling about this? I'm tempted to just get one ticket, $2 for 800 mil seems like a good deal :D
