"I'm going to blacklist you!"

I rarely blacklist people. Throwing on a contributor restriction is good enough for me since I would think that most people who contribute on some level are able to follow the rules and aren't extreme jerks.

I just blacklist people who beg, and that one guy who didn't give me the game I won.

I blacklist, but I don't threat. I just do it.

Don't really use the blacklist unless they are down right trolly.

I bet my exact answer is somewhere in this thread already... I generally don't threaten blacklisting, but there are a few people that annoyed me enough (mainly via regifting etc) to be blacklisted. But then again, I only fall into the corn in my turds category anyway ;-)

Not everybody's having a fat wallet, y'know. So to have given "some crappy bundle games and cheap buys" is really nothing to look down upon.

Blacklisting is the worst feature on the site. So flawed.

While I'm not against blacklisters, it's their choice after all, I do think blacklist-calling out ("welcome to my blacklist" / "I got a special place for you... in my blacklist!" etc') is thrown around excessively and influences other people judgement - it exacerbates the phenomenon. Sort of a virtual lynch-mobbing if you will.
My method is inclusionary = find people you like in whatever way you see fit and let them enjoy your gifts.

Are you actually talking about people literally threatening people with their blacklist? I never saw someone go "Oh, you better shut up or I'll blacklist you!", but sometimes when I'm in an arguement with someone really really really stupid I'll tell them that I blacklisted them and I'm done. Happened maybe once, besides the times I told people with begging threads that I blacklisted them, but I never actually threatend them with it.

I don't tell people when I blacklist them, but people who get on my blacklist are either people who have made some really rude posts, who act like spoiled brats (demanding games, complaining about other people getting games and so on (not people who say things like "I was so unlucky for not winning that massive developer giveaway", but rather people who go out of their way to tell everyone how unfair it was that they did not win, or or people who make a (loud) point about how unfair it is that they don't win the games that they want)) or simply those who break the rules. Telling people that you're going to blacklist them just seem like a way to intentionally try to create some conflict or drama.

I only have like two people on my blacklist, because I'm not active to the degree where putting people on there would really be likely to make any difference. Those couple just did stuff that I absolutely 100% disagreed with, not just mildly annoying me in some way.

I haven't blacklisted anybody on SG 2.0 yet, but that's likely because I haven't been on it much for the past year or so :P

It is pretty ridiculous. Though, I suppose they can do what they want. As for myself, I have yet to add anyone to my blacklist or whitelist, and I doubt I'll ever use either of them.
