Hey guys! I am an avid FPS enjoyer but now i don't feel like playing any competitive games. I want to play some relaxing and soothing games. Maybe like co-op building or survival games. I would really love if you all can share some of your gems that i can try out. I am open to discover any genre

Thanks and have a good day!

Hello, and welcome to steamgifts. :)

You should consider looking into older single player FPS games. Linear, story based stuff. Lots of great titles from previous gaming generations. Bioshock, F.E.A.R., Halo, DOOM, Wolfenstein, etc. The Far Cry series is great too (especially 3, 4, and Blood Dragon).

Terraria / Starbound ? They are :

  • single or coop
  • relaxing
  • light survival
  • light base building

Otherwise maybe No man's sky or Raft ?

Hey, welcome to Steamgifts!
The Cozy Gaming Corner thread has a lot of game recommendations, and sometimes giveaways. Softbearcas also keeps a great list of free, relaxing games on Steam.
If you’re looking for something relaxing in the sense of “turn your brain off and chill”, singleplayer FPS are a good place to start as insideAfireball suggested (I second Bioshock in particular if you want an immersive story and fun gameplay).
Good luck :)

Hey there, if you have Amazon Prime, you can connect to https://gaming.amazon.com/home and instantly get 32 games (and more, new ones, every week), most of which you can redeem on EG or GOG and keep them forever.
The selection currently includes great games like Bioshock Infinite, Deus Ex: Human revolution, AK-xolotl and others.

even if you don't have Prime, you could potentially do a free trial just to get the games (not sure if that works but may be worth trying)

At least in Germany for me it works. Getting all free games with 30 days trial. They also offer me 1€ for 7 days sometimes, gives also access to Prime games. Just don't forget to unsub before trial ends.

Back in the day i used to redeem in-game items for COD over amazon prime. Their game catalog didn't offer interesting titles back then. I will give it a try again

Deep Rock Galactic might not be relaxing or soothing but I can recommend it. But it's a FPS
If you like Puzzlers I'd recommend The Witness. There are many (!) hidden things to discover in this game ^^

Is this sarcasm or just language barrier? He said he's tired of competitive games, and you listed the competitive loadout. I'll add a few you missed just for the lulz:
League
Valorant
Fortnite
Apex
Dota
Siege
Rivals
RL

Some of the most relaxing games of course(lol), where at least 15 times a match you get to cuss either your team mates or the enemy team out or yourself. Maybe even have the opportunity to replace a mouse, keyboard or a monitor.

Oh i missed the competitive part. Except cs2 others are non competitive games.

Haha what, siege and valorant are like cs to the core where you plant and defend, rivals is similar like a CTF, fortnite and apex are last player standing, rocket league is only versus people, even in casual, trust me I got a 30 day ban just two days ago, and league, dota are 5vs5, 3vs3 or whatever. There's no pve game modes in any of these that grant you xp or rewards to match cs or to make it relaxing xD.

Don't get me wrong, I like cs the most out of the others, just remember Gaben denounced it vs Dota, where's he's throwing all the money cs skins make him.

I mean those games have there own charm, that racism, toxicity, frustration, weird shenanigans. But now i am looking for more relaxing stuff. I have tried some pirated big titles like atomic heart and metro, they were really great. I am looking forward to buy Wolfenstein and Terraria.

Try ark on a pve server with higher rates unless you already played it. I had a lot of fun, everyone put their base where it fit, other players didn't destroy your base, and you could take your time to explore and grow your base, or sleep, without coming back to see it destroyed and looted.

I've finished and can recommend:

  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut
  • any of the Wolfenstein games except Youngblood (e.g. The Old Blood, The New Order, The New Colossus)

Non-fps genres:

  • Greak: Memories of Azur (Metroidvania)
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (Metroidvania)
  • OCTOPATH TRAVELER™ (JRPG)
  • Yomawari: Lost in the Dark (JRPG)
  • LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW RePOP (Action/comedic)
  • Nier;Automata (Action RPG)
  • Witcher 3 (RPG)

Towards the chill-relaxing side:

  • Stardew Valley
  • Eastward + Octopia DLC
  • A Rose in the Twilight
  • Cassette Beasts

Note: Any of these will play fine on Linux with Steam Proton if you're interested in that.

I saw Your post on Deals, clicked on it, it was gone, thankfully I saw it again on discussions few hours later.
From FPS that You may find easy:
Deceive Inc. (game's pretty dead, was free on Epic and in prime)
Blazing Sails (also pretty dead, was free on Epic)

From Co-op building/survival:
Enshrouded
State of Decay 2 Juggenaut (on Winter sale was 90% off)

Other ''gems'':
PlateUp! (Co-op cooking, like Overcooked)
Operation Tango (spy themed co-op puzzle with mixed 2d/3d missions)

I'll add more if I'll think of something

I have a kid, so I will recommend...Minecraft. Base building, can be done in easier modes for less nasty monsters, or harder for excitement but also doooom. Punching trees can be cathartic.

I prefer Core Keeper, but it's more top down. I like the feel better.

Take a look at
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2082260/TAXINAUT/
It is a space taxi driving with a huge galaxy, there are some quests you can follow or just relax taking people to other places. there are also dangerous places and crowded planets.

from the lil list relaxing games I've played, I've gotta recommend Smushi Come Home and if u want sth a lil more story-rich and a tad more um serious Beacon Pines , you are gonna love em , I'm sure ;but the real reason that compelled me to comment was to suggest Yakuza 0 cause I just cant recommend games like a normal person and at all instances I must include Yakuza 0 as its just such a masterpiece that while very popular, its still not getting the love it deserves imao:!
