So I'm going back to college on January 2nd, have to stay with my brother that night as I'm not allowed to move back in until noon on the 3rd. So I thought I would make a little train and a puzzle for the occasion. Not sure how much I can help out in this one (I'm confident that it's my easiest puzzle yet) as I am still on vacation and have limited access to a computer. Anyway ... all aboard!

For my more puzzly peers, I present you with this ...

You need to find the proper order of eight numbers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8) by following these steps:

  1. A number should never be next to another number that is one less or one greater (e.g. 2 and 4 should not be next to 3)
  2. 5 comes first, while 4 and 6 are the last two numbers.
  3. The number 2 tells you where it should be.
  4. Pairs of numbers that add up to 10 like to stay together (e.g. 4 and 6), excludes 1 and 5.
  5. The pair that contains 6 cannot be next to the pair that contains 7.
  6. In these pairs, the larger number is always to the right.

Now if you only knew what each number meant, guess you'll just have to follow the train and heed my words to find out. ;P

Anyway, do with this what you will but remember that it ends at noon on January 3rd, CST.

Great puzzle btw. (at least for my standards)
I'm only trying it for blackhole. xD (and because I like puzzles obviously)

I'm very close I'm at the last question having trouble with it... :P It's indeed too weird, how to understand it. :(

I am sure I got the proof right but it's not taking it...

I started in February, so my final semester of my first year is almost over now. Only two more weeks and one test to go. And then another week (maybe two) off!
