I know its pretty late to play it now. But I'm still thinking of getting one through some traders over SteamTrades. But I would like to know how many players are still playing it. And how's the ping over here in SEA Region? Thanks for anyone who would be able to help.

I think Titanfall should be on the "play 48 hours" rental system thing on Origin. Just checked, it's called "Game Time" and the weekend is coming so try it.

+1

Battlefield 4, Titanfall and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
Titanfall and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning 2 days trial
Battlefield 4 7 days trial

@ KoA:R is a large "open world" single player rpg (Fable/Darksiders style, 88% positive opinions on steam) and according to this http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=5056 there's even chance to beat it by 2 days of free trial.

well for me it's good. for the main mode of the game there are always enough people to find a match in less then a minute and wall running and jumping on titans is fun. without dlcs there are not that many maps but they are from ok to great. it's a fun little game with massive download :)

Are people even playing that any more? Or Crysis 3? Or Medal of Honor? Or any number of EA's failed CoDtenders besides Battlefield?

Crysis 3 is still a great game. At least it HAS a single player mode. And doesn't reqire 50 gigs of hdd space.

The sad thing is that Battlefield used to be very different from the CoD-style big, cinematic action that has marked the series since Bad Company 1.

Apparently that sells well enough to reduce the game to 10% of its original size and put flashlights everywhere.

Crysis 3 is mainly a single player game and was never intended to compete with CoD. and it's really good shooter, btw. i guess you didn't play (and beat) it...

I never finished Crysis 2, the campaign is way too long. Might as well start with Crysis 3 which I bought a year ago for $5.

crysis 3 was something like 8-10 hours, i think, which is perfect.

You know what they say about making assumptions without evidence, right? Because I have played it. Beat it too for that matter. And enjoyed it, actually.

When I said 'failed CoDtender', I mean that the games in question haven't endured in the public consciousness. It wasn't a comment about their quality as entertainment.

It's a great game and a lot of fun. Of course like any other game it gets boring after 1000+ hours but are you really not satisfied with your money at 1000+ hours of gameplay? They added a horde mode too so you don't have to just play vs all the time.

I actually find Frontier Defense boring. =P. Its good for learning the game though and getting the weapon upgrades with each gen change.

There are plenty of games that don't get boring after 1000+ hours. You just have to buy the right games. Here are just a few:

  • Diablo II LOD
  • Starcraft BW
  • Neverwinter Nights
  • Counter-Strike 1.6
  • Left 4 Dead 2

I wouldn't play a single of those 1000+ hours and not get bored. I don't think you can just make a list of "non-boring games EVURR" and apply that to everyone.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

As it turns out, I was not making a list like you described. I was refuting the claim given above that "any game gets boring after 1000+ hours." Some games have enough variety and/or variation that we enjoy the act of playing them long after we have mastered them. I listed some of mine (there are many others), and I expect that everyone else has theirs. As you pointed out, not every game is for everybody (I don't find golf interesting), but I suspect you have other ways of entertaining yourself that you have been using for many years.

People always whine about Titanfall how its a dead game...blah blah blah. I have been playing the game for the past 6 months and have over 350 hours playing time. I love it since it's fast paced action and the addition to Titans is awesome. Sure the game has its HUGE down sides for example the lack of campaign, people are always whining about the smart pistol for it being an aimbot. But whatever, the game is well balanced and if you like a fast FPS its amazing and there is plenty of people on the more popular modes. I suggest you get it if you enjoy FPS...you will get murdered the first couple of games since there is quite a learning curve with the wall running...but once you get the down its great. There is really nothing like out there with the great movement and the Titans.

Go on EA Origin site, and get Titanfall "Game Time", you will then have free 48 hours of Titanfall. Try it out, I have, it was fun.

When I use it, does it use the time while downloading? Or not?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, the game time starts when you launch the game.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Also, you can start the game time whenever. I had it installed for months without starting it and still had the 48 hours game time.....Also, it's a true 48 hours amount of game time, so if you played for 6 hours, then didn't go on it for 4 weeks, then you still have 36 hours left on the clock

Permalink

Ok lol, only game time counts? :O then 48h is a way more than enough to play this game and get bored, no similar games lasted me even 48h.

"Your Origin Game Time clock begins when you first launch the game after it’s been fully downloaded and installed. Once started, the clock will continue to run whether you’re in the game or taking a break."

It seems that the clock will not stop if you quit the game. Might be wrong though since I never needed it.

No, you don't. Once you start the game time you have 48 hours to use it.

I guess they changed it, or I was wrong, (yes, people do, in fact, make mistakes). I'm almost positive it was when they first did it because my mate played it through 48 hours over a week, not just the weekend it was released.....Unless he got lucky and it was a glitch somehow.

Got it for $5 during the sale. Played it a few times. Decent generic AAA shooter. Server is in Hong Kong, near me, so ping times are just fine.

Permalink

The Ping is about 35ms for me, since I live in Singapore and there are servers here.

Decent game but it seems to be more difficult compared to COD. Aiming is near impossible with people jumping around and invisibility.

most of the time deluxe editions are garbage imho...

Don't bother with the Season pass or deluxe version. I doubt many people are still playing the DLCs.

They are mostly map packs, pretty much the same stuff you find in COD. And no, I don't play it often. I don't like getting owned...
