PSA: Droid Assault Steam keys from the Puppy Games birthday giveaway

If you picked up Droid Assault from Puppy Games' birthday giveaway last April (and were one of the people who played nice, only got one game, and didn't get them all revoked,) Steam keys are now available!

Just go here and put in your email address to get your key.

Edit: I'm being told if it won't recognize your email address that you may need to download the game from their site and input your email address into the game first.

You need to download the Demo from the game first, enter there your email and then you can use the link for the code :)

Then you played the game before and your email is already registered for the system. Just wanted to point this out :) ...and yes, you did played it...you cant redeem this key without authorizing trough the demo.

Last April, Puppy Games gave away games to people to celebrate their birthday.

Naturally, people abused this like crazy, causing a huge mess for the game dev. Here is the dev's blog from that time, showing just what happened and the fallout from the giveaway.

They let everybody get one game from their site for free on their birthday. People who cheated and used multiple email addresses to get multiple games had all their keys revoked.

Why did I get Titan Attacks back then -.-

Also, my wonderful theory: Droid Assault, now released on steam but a pretty old game, will be in the next Humble Bundle, which requires games to be available on steam. Thoughts?

Technically, it doesn't require games to be on Steam. Waking Mars only had a greenlight page when it was in a bundle.

Humble Bundle games don't require Steam keys. The games only have to be DRM-free for Win, Mac and Linux.

It didn't work for me.

I downloaded the demo and entered my email for the subscription.

When I entered my email at their website it didn't work.

No. Mine came from HIB and last year I was unable to get one due to overwhelming response.
