The rich worked hard for their wealth.
The poor deserve the money more then the rich.

I'm not rich and I don't agree with taking money from the rich and giving to the poor.
If you do that, the poor will believe they don't have to work hard and are entitled to it.
I believe the government should give equal opportunities to every person, such as good public schools and universities; access to good health care.
Then every person need to do their best with those opportunities. Some people just don't want to work or go to school.

It just depends on who's the rich and who's the poor. Not all wealthy people are bastards, not all poor people are good souls

I think there's a middle ground. Many wealthy people earned their wealth, and I would say that just taking it to redistribute is unfair. However, there is a certain point where the suffering of the poor must be considered; allowing someone to die because someone "deserves" their wealth is pretty terrible.

Not a single rich person got wealthy without the cooperation and benefit of the society that we all participate in. We all owe something to the collective, and pretending that we owe nothing to anyone else for our success is what leads to the misapprehension that some unjust hardship is befalling us when the tax man comes around. The only real problem is that the government has become largely subverted and no longer acts in the interest of most of the citizenry.

Neither option appeals to me...I DO think, however, that those who are able to afford it most (such as the Kardashians, Trumps, Packers, Murdochs, Spielberg, Lucas, Disney, Tom Cruise etc) should be encouraged to do more to help those less fortunate, much like Bill & Melinda Gates do...

Of course they aren't all bastards, and I'm certain there are a lot more like the Gates' than we realise, Bill & Melinda are just the highest-profile ones...

Keanu Reeves is another example, he does a lot for others, whether it's taking a massive pay cut on a film in order to give crew members better pay, or sitting down and sharing a meal with a homeless dude, but we don't hear a lot about what he does because he just does it...there are bound to be a lot more like him and the Gates'

"The rich worked hard for their wealth." Except for those born into wealth and who haven't had to truly work a day in their lives. The majority of the wealthiest people in the world, in other words. Some things like the tech boom are changing that, but even there a lot of the people able to make the most of it grew up in extreme privilege.

After analyzing the poor-to-rich and Robin Hood situation, I can say that both answers are wrong. All countries have a taxing system for all people, where they take a procent of their money to be split for poorer citizens. This is what partically pervents Robin Hoods and overly greedy people.

stealing from the rich is not the optimal solution. the rich have to give the poor money by choice.

There are too many things to consider. Every person works different hours, some people don't work, some people work harder than others, it's just a messy topic. In my opinion money shouldn't exist. We should work to better ourselves and look beyond material possessions and such. Sadly that will never happen though.

Oh, and the question is obviously worded with a positive bias for the "rich people", it makes it sound like all rich people have worked hard for their money, and like all poor people are just greedy.

It's a poll. How can there be bias when it isn't a statement? Seems to me like you're jealous.

It's biased because the "Pro-rich" option makes it look like every rich person worked for it and such, while the "Pro-Poor" option makes a statement about how much a certain group deserves something, without any justification or additional info. It's poorly worded at least.

I don't think many here actually are of such a black or white opinion, and i personally don't think any of the options are correct (in the literal sense), though i sure as hell do wish more people did like Bill Gates and gave their money to charitable causes, if not for the fact that living in a society is about making the things better not just for yourself, than because it is a nice thing to do, that will make many happy (Yes, there are those who get greedy and feel "entitled" though, but just like the ones who actually don't want to work and only live on state funded benefits, that number is extremely small), and because it helps society a little overall, rather than just keeping it in one place (which in the case of the "rich people" we are speaking about, there is no shortage whatsoever of said thing [money]).

^ Somewhat simplified since if i really had the time and energy to write everything i'd like to say (or explain) about it, i'd not be on this website, i'd be writing a book or a 4-hour presentation, lol.

You don't have to answer if you don't want, 95% of the comment was not pointed at you anyway >_<'

I don't think it's biased. It's an option to vote available for people. Like I could make a poll with the answer "No, all German monks should be kissed on the ears" doesn't mean I'm biased towards German monks. It's the people answering the poll being biased. He could have made 4 choices:

The rich worked hard for their wealth.
The rich don't deserve their money, they haven't worked hard for it.
The poor deserve the money more then the rich.
The poor don't deserve the money, they haven't worked hard for it.

Or something. Then, in the results we would see which of the reasons for the real two options people voted for. But you can only choose one option. For now, I simply have assumed that people who agree with neither option, don't vote. Overall, the poll was a poor idea to begin with, and as someone already said the OP just seems like he wants drama. I also agree that it was poorly worded.

I voted for the one i thought was "the lesser of two evils", kind of like i do when it comes to politics (well, not that extreme, but it is my main motivation for voting).

I mostly agree with you though and "poorly worded" is probably more accurate, and yea, the OP seems to strive to create drama.
