Heyho!

So I'm kinda new to this website and I've got a couple of questions.
What's the big difference between TF2 and CS:GO keys?
Why are there so many different kind of CS:GO keys and does it really matter which one I'd get?
And finally I have Borderlands 2 GOTY for trade and I've got a 3 key offer for it. Should I take it or wait and hope for someone to trade me Dead Rising 3 or MGSV:TPP for it? (2 games that I'd REALLY love to play).

Thanks so much for your time in advance <3

The big difference is the price of the keys. CS:GO keys are worth more.

Yes, it does matter. People usually like the uncommon types of CS:GO keys, which are operation ones. Not the Vanilla ones.

I doubt those games will be offered, but who knows.

Hello! :D
1) It's mostly about the different price on the steam market. CS:GO keys always cost more than TF2 keys.
2) Because they open different cases. It matters which you get. The common CS:GO keys (the vanilla ones) cost less than all the other CS:GO keys. Plus, there are some CS:GO keys, like the esports ones, that usually cost less than the others and don't get easily sold.
3) I think you could ask up to 4 cs:go keys for it.
4) No way someone will offer you Dead Rising 3 or MGSV: TPP for this game, but you never know. :P

What he said above me, and no way are you gonna get the games you want for that. Avg trading price of Borderlands GOTY is 2.97 keys, DR3, 8 keys, MGSVTPP 13keys.

Nah, just experience, and comparison of prices of a few trading sites. There is no handy list of current prices, though that would be great, but since trading varies so much by desire, quick sells, etc, it would be a nightmare to keep updated.

edit if you mean key to dollar value, a good # is 1.90$ / key imo. You must consider, most traders do not buy their keys from the market, so they do not have full market value.

2.5 dls for key make the mats easy.

The big difference is that TF2 will open a Mann Co. Supply Crate while a CS:GO key opens a CS:GO case. There are many different CS:GO weapon cases, and you should buy the key that fits into the case you have.

I'm kinda new to this website.

O_o

Jokes aside, the main difference between TF2 and CS:GO keys is that the former only come in one type, while the latter encompass multiple kinds. The rarer the key, the better the rewards that could be obtained from the corresponding cases.
Also, TF2 is a Free-to-Play game, while CS:GO is a paid one, so for this reason alone CS:GO items are more valuable.

I have Borderlands 2 GOTY for trade and I've got a 3 key offer for it.

That's a good offer (although not great), but before accepting it make sure you're dealing with a reputable trader, and not a scammer.
Scammers usually impersonate high-profile traders, and often link their Steam Gifts profile to "steal" their reputation.

Install the Enhanced Steam browser extension if you haven't already, it'll make it easier to discern good traders from the scammers.

Wow, I didn't know!
But then, I couldn't care less about those 2 games, so I just know what keys are, and what they're used for.

Well, it's not like they're good games. xD I know about those keys because I'm a trader. ;P
