That's even worse.
There is no excuse for drinking and driving.
If you can't wait to drink until you're in a location that you don't need to drive from then I think you need some help, you may be an alcoholic...
Comment has been collapsed.
Which one of us drank, then drove someone else's car and crashed it?
I think everyone can figure out who the idiot is.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm glad you're finally starting to admit that you were wrong.
Did you at least apologize to your mother?
Comment has been collapsed.
Filing you under the "I have no idea what I am talking about" folder. Unless he pounded that beer in 10 seconds on an empty stomach while climbing a mountain he most likely will not even come close to being legally intoxicated.
Comment has been collapsed.
seriously mentioning you drank one beer is a dumb move, you will now get the straight edge idiots crawling out claiming you are a reckless monster and you possibly killed someone and you should turn yourself in.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh I'm sorry you must have forgotten what you wrote and did not read disturbed0ne's comment. But I forgive you.
Comment has been collapsed.
Sorry you missed the sarcasm, I think you are a tit.
Comment has been collapsed.
I love how you go with the classic deflect after being called a stupid sod and proven that you might be an over reacting tit.
1 beer will not get you drunk, unless you went for some insane 20% imperial stout.
Comment has been collapsed.
"Don't drink and drive next time."
Now if you were being sarcastic try to mention that since this comes off as a backhanded swat. Now since I am making that statement that 1 beer will not get you drunk and I have you are for some reason getting pissy. Not my problem if you agree with me great recant and apologize to the person you accused of drunk driving, if not stop arguing with me.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well at least you are getting the fact that I am indeed insulting you. Now back to white knighting he was in an accident and your first reaction was. He doesn't need a white knight, I'm just picking on you for being an obvious idiot. Now if this is the classic cry for help where he actually chugged a 12 pack then he has problems and internet shaming is not going to do him any good. But in short give the man a break he had an accident. And no that beer did not cause it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well this ended but just one tip for you mate, things like intention does not translate well over text unless you are really good at it.
Now your first statement reads like the typical over reaction as highlighted by the other idiot in the thread. IF that wasn't your intention I suggest you either delete your first statement which obviously went over as well as a fart in church or you know stop trying to tell me that I have no idea what your first statement meant.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh I can tell that, but you already have people calling you a drunk driver on one beer.
Which is kind of expected since they get all their real life experience from an after school special.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you don't give a shit what people think then why post this on an online forum? ¬_¬
Seems to me that you're looking for sympathy where none is deserved.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm by no means a straight edge, I drink and do other things but what I don't do is endanger other people (by driving a car) while doing it.
I'm definitely not a saint but at least I'm responsible.
Comment has been collapsed.
Drinking and driving (even if it's just one beer) is a horrible thing to do, you get no sympathy from me.
You're lucky you're not in jail with a suspended license...¬_¬
Comment has been collapsed.
Is it really that hard for you to NOT DRIVE after you've been drinking?
What if you hit a car full of people instead of a bank???
You'd be singing a much different tune if you were sitting in a jail cell right now awaiting sentencing for manslaughter...
Comment has been collapsed.
My dad must be a horrible brute for going out to a nice dinner, having a beer and driving home, thanks for pointing out he is a horrible monster, where would I be without you.
Comment has been collapsed.
Drinking and driving doesn't just affect the person who does it, it affects anyone they come in contact with while driving drunk/buzzed.
Comment has been collapsed.
I am certain no one told you this but you must be a massive tool, were you raised in the wild by a pack of after school specials?
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope, no one's told me that before.
In fact I was raised by good people who know right from wrong and don't use the "well it was just one beer" excuse when they make a mistake in life.
Comment has been collapsed.
Call me what ever you like, it's not going to change who I am or what I believe in.
In a few years you'll look back on this incident and be very thankful that you didn't hit anyone else.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't want/need to change who you are, or what you believe in. I just want to laugh at it.
And you know what you condescending prick? I AM glad I didn't hit anybody or anything. Not because I was drunk though.. Because I wasn't. But because I was out of control, for entirely separate reasons which you seem to be incapable of understanding.
Comment has been collapsed.
No judge or jury would care what reason you gave for crashing, the only thing they would see was that you were drinking before driving, end of story.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm going to guess from your responses that you're around 12 years old.
If you're older than that then I feel really sorry for anyone that has to interact with you on a daily basis.
Comment has been collapsed.
They love me, just last night we had a nice dinner. I grilled some steaks opened a bottle of wine, they all had a glass then they drove home. But then I proceeded to inform them that what they did was reckless and they could have hurt not only themselves but some random person, they then thanked me for my concern and promised never to do it again. There was much weeping but we all grew a bit that day.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope, I can almost guarantee that I'm older than you and I am talking from experience.
Like I said earlier, if you can't wait to have a drink (even just one) until you're in a place that you don't need to drive from then you might have a problem...
Comment has been collapsed.
I enjoy my life, I don't drink often but when I do I'm responsible enough to know that driving afterwards is out of the question.
But who am I to tell you what to do, you're obviously OK with it and like you said, you don't give a shit what I think so there's no need for you to keep defending yourself, right?
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't think I'm defending myself as much as I'm trying to get your off your high horse, and have you see that the accident was not caused by the alcohol. You're a great proponent of my state's Zero Tolerance laws, but you're not being realistic.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're entitled to your opinion as I'm entitled to mine.
It's my opinion that drinking and then driving is never OK under any circumstances.
Comment has been collapsed.
Ok, but you don't get that the beer was drank quite some time before I even drove. You don't seem to understand how drinking/the human body/metabolism work. Either that, or you're just crusading for some imaginary MADD-type shit that is only in your head.
The beer (singular) is irrelevant here, because it had no bearing on the driver (me) when the accident occurred. I'm not arguing that I was an idiot tonight.. I fucked up my moms car, of course I was. I'm TELLING you, the beer has nothing to do with it. You want to berate me for driving like an idiot, driving angry, possibly endangering people for that reason, go ahead. When you keep bringing up the single beer I had long before this happened you diminish both your argument, and the accident I had itself.
Comment has been collapsed.
Taken directly from your original post "I had one beer, and I drove home".
Not until many posts later did you say that you waited before driving.
So how exactly does that make me out to be some "uptight tool" (in the words of little comradestallion)?
Comment has been collapsed.
Hmm, so because I didn't go into more detail in the OP, you assumed a bunch of shit and went off of that?
From OP:
"Stupid shit happened" - Shit happened with that girl, I got angry, it was stupid..
"Had one beer" - While I was there, I had one beer.
"I drove home" - after an appropriate amount of time (in my opinion, knowing my own tolerance and the local law) I drove home.
You are an "uptight tool" because of everything you inferred and the manner you came off in, and even after other events came to light in the conversation you stuck to your original script.
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh, and nobody here has condoned, or is condoning drunk driving. I know what can happen when you drive drunk. I also know what can happen when you drive recklessly (drunk or not) like I did tonight. You have completely missed the point with your tirade against drunk driving...
Comment has been collapsed.
You left out important facts in the story.
I read your story and responded accordingly.
You're completely in the wrong on every level in this thread.
End of discussion.
Comment has been collapsed.
Alas I have no defense against the implied age statement, you know other then the fact that I don't give 2 shits about how old you think I am.
1 beer and driving is not reckless unless you get buzzed off that one beer and or shot gunned it before getting behind the wheel.
Comment has been collapsed.
You reply like I value anything you say after reading your comments.
To me, your opinion is worth about as much as a $3 bill.

He crashed a car as well...
It doesn't matter what excuse he gives, he would have most likely failed a breathalyzer and been taken to jail.
Do any of you people even know what laws are? o_O
Comment has been collapsed.
I've been to AZ, I used to live out near there (in Las Vegas), I hear prison is pretty rough out there.
Comment has been collapsed.
You demand a blood test when you get pulled into the station, if you only had one beer you should be way below 0.08 unless you drank it 10 minutes before the accident. Or again are a major lightweight.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah, it was close to an hour, if not longer. I went down to another bar afterwards to see if anyone I knew was around, nobody was, so I hung out listening to the music for a bit, didn't drink anything, then walked back to the parking garage.
Problem with AZ is Zero Tolerance laws. .08 used to be the legal limit, but now with 0 tolerance, they can give you a DUI if it's less than that as well.
Comment has been collapsed.
Jeez nevermind, my legal advice get the fuck out of AZ seriously what is wrong with you. Hell using listerine would be gambling.
Comment has been collapsed.
Pictures please. Drinking and driving you should know better SIR!
Comment has been collapsed.
This happened just because you had 1 beer dude , who the hell drinks 1 beer ? 5 or nothing lol
Comment has been collapsed.
Them skanks... they're just good when they buy a round :P
Comment has been collapsed.
It was at least an hour. Don't worry, I wasnt at all intoxicated when I was driving. The reasons behind the accident are (A) I was angry, and therefore driving faster than I should have been. (B) Because I was driving so fast, and in a minivan instead of my Honda Accord and the control is obviously not as good :).
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I figured it wasn't the beer as much as the other two things. Driving angry is never a good idea. Haha yeah, I'm not an expert at driving vans (I've got a Nissan Sentra myself, small car), but I've noticed it takes quite a bit more care to drive a van because of the size.
Comment has been collapsed.
How much is your deductible? Accidents are the reason you have insurance, file a claim.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I'm not on the insurance for my moms car, so if we were going to claim we'd have to say that she was driving when it happened, and I won't let that happen. It was my fault for driving recklessly, so I'll pay for the damage. It sucks, but it'll be better than having her insurance go up for an accident she didn't have :/
Comment has been collapsed.
Unless there was a police report that says he was over the legal limit, that's irrelevant. It sounds like the accident was because he was driving like an idiot, not because of one beer (which is well under the legal limit just about everywhere). Insurance for a car covers other people using your car (especially family members).

Ah, welcome to the club. It's a rite of passage, like getting braces and growing hair on your nuts.

So I took my moms car out tonight, went to work, when I got off work I went downtown. Stupid shit happened, I had one beer, and I drove home. Took a corner way too fast (for my moms minivan :O) and hit a bank. Popped both front tires, bent both front rims... Now I most likely owe at least 2 grand to her to fix it. Fuck me.
Edit: Asked her to use her car because mine is low on gas and the heater blows, and its been snowing :P
Edit 2: Oh yeah, also did a fair amount of body damage on the drivers side of the car
