The first crysis, no offense, it did look awesome, but, after 15 Minutes, it burnt up all that made it good and startet to be a boring shootery shooter. Also, the bug in the end made me insane!

You can either go Rambo or go full stealth, or mix that - this game gives you a freedom most games don't - this is boring? Supported by suit powers it gives you even more freedom.

No, I also don't like the Binding of Isaac. Maybe I just didn't put enough time in it yet...but that's not how games should work, it should catch your attention immediately!

I felt it was kinda repetitive, but that is just my opinion. It doesn't help I also was never a fan of those type of games and I was butt awful at the game, so I saw nothing but the same stuff a lot of the time.

There's something about it that really puts me off, but the retro-done-right art style isn't it.

(By retro-done-right I mean "start within the limitations of an old 4-bit system, and stay within those limits as much as possible. This as opposed to "retro-done-wrong" where someone dicks around with a 32-bit pallette sprite editor, finds out the result looks like crap, and markets it as "authentic retro 8-bit graphics")

Most MMOs. They start off fun, but the further you get the more you realize what money hogging repetitive shits they are. Here, buy fully upgraded weapons or anti item breaking talismans. And I'm like a naive kid running from one MMO to another expecting something different. Maybe RIFT is.

I've played Rift. It does have a lot of repetitive stuff in it - the reputation grinds, end-game raids etc. you see in pretty much every other MMO are there as well.

It does have a lot of different activities to do and areas to explore though, so if you get bored of one, you can focus on another.
And it goes Free to play with a decent-looking finance model end of next week, so if you're on the fence you can wait until then to try it out.

nooooo.....the high-resolution dog can't die !!!
He feels so real...like he is alive.

I mean, sure there are other games with dogs and good graphics, but only COD can give you feeling like you are there...even the fish avoid you while swimming xD

Hah, you mean a Call of Duty game that has that? Other games have had that ability for ages! For example: If you had played Thief (via 1998) your wait would have only been 7 years.

I don't understand why they removed it in the first place. To remove strategic moving for consoles? CoD 2 and 4 had it. Not to mention Enemy Territory that also runs on a modified quake engine. I remember when peeking around corners actually was new and amazing, but that for me was 10 years ago. Oh man.. if you watch those development videos for Ghost, it's like they have lost any connection to reality.

I don't know if I ever regretted playing a game.. I mean if I don't like it I uninstall it... no game has ever scarred me to the point where I'm permanently damaged or anything so as to regret the experience, lol.

but I can say one of the worst games I ever played was transformers war for cybertron, because it was so utterly generic, bland, soulless, whitebread, samey, homogenised, lifeless, colourless, repetitive and dull that I actually feel lethargic and uncomfortably drained whenever remember my experience playing it... but I don't regret playing it, because remembering how bad a game can be, actually made me more open to seeing even the smallest good that comes through in a game , sometimes helping me see beneath the superficial to find quite enjoyable games that in the past I would have dismissed after 30 minutes.

...but I have definately regretted wasting the time and bandwidth on games, thats for sure... borderlands 1 and 2 and dota spring to mind...

I've never really played a game that made me say 'there's ___ hours of my life that I'm not getting back'. Usually if I don't like a game, I return it. I've only had to do that once; I'm actually pretty good at choosing games that I enjoy.

Lately, I've promised myself lately that if I plan on starting a game, I have to finish it (all or nothing!) Hence, here are some recently completed games that I regret playing.

L.A. Noire - Way too repetitive. I ended up using a walkthrough for some of Vice and all of Arson just so I could finish the game and see how the story played out; wasn't satisfied with the ending.

Zeno Clash - such a weird game (probably deliberately weird, but weird none the less).

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - boring stealth, boring story. However, this is a biased opinion because I'm not a big fan of stealth (I ended up headshotting my way through the whole game).

Is it bad that I actually kind of enjoyed that game? Sure it was pretty bad, especially the driving missions, but there was something strangely enjoyable about running around through a post office, killing the innocent postal workers with a katana and slow motion jumping through scaffolding on a skyscraper. ^_^

It's not that I regret playing cus of it being a bad game, became f2p or the community. Just that I spent so much time on it, that I decided to quit and stop playing it.

Mafia 2 and GTA 4 - I don't necessarily regret playing them, but they were waaaaay below what I expected. Both had shiny new graphics (trend nowadays), but they were severely lacking "meat on the bone" for me.

Really, GTA4? While I agree it wasnt one of the better sequels, it's hard to imagine it being disapointing. It was a pretty polished game, both in graphics and gameplay. But de gustibus non est disputandum, I guess.

Kind of regret it as well. San Andreas, Vice City and III were fun. In 4 all you have to do is hold your kaaasins willy while he fails to cope with the situation. The attention was in the wrong places, but I guess Stories from Liberty City redeemed that.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, I agree with that. Vice City kind of set the standard in the series and San Andreas expanded it plus added more bells and whistles. While GTA 4 did look prettier (which was only normal), it did represent a certain step back. I'm really interested to see what the next sequel will look like.
