As MuahahahaMeow said, you've entered less giveaways in three years than many people enter in a two-month period.
With low odds, you need many chances, so you enter a lot of giveaways. In order to have high odds so you can win with fewer chances, you need to have a high contributor level, or be in someone's favor as a member of a small whitelist, as a member of a small and/or prolific giveaway group with limited membership, or as one of very few recipients of an invite-only link.
P.S. Your curiosity is not unique. The second-most popular thing on this site--other than giveaways--are threads by people who haven't won wondering how probabilities work (a rather generous characterization of many of these threads). The important thing is that in a fair system, probabilities work the same for everyone.

You take jokes too literally. Humor is not a chicken bone; don't suck the marrow out of it.

That's why I registered and that's what I still like to believe. <3

3 years and 2,247. Sure, he was lucky, but you didn't enter that many, so..

Scroll to the very bottom of Sg, and on the bottom right you will see "Users". Click it and you can type your name in the search bar to check! :3

I had never actually been to the very bottom :o
Thanks :3
It's a whole new world out there

its wrong to believe that reading books (even at night just using a lighter, i guess you got that in mind) is bad for your eyes....
get your facts right

It's not necessarily that I'm smart, I just have common sense :p

Sorry, I can't even pretend I care.
He was lucky, but if does not contribute a lot of users will put him on their blacklist. You can be the luckiest guy but you can't rely on luck forever, you have to give too: you make your own luck. Make more GAs and maybe you will win more. I like that.

won your giveaway with 153 entires, and one with 1000 copies and 12K entries
so 1:153 and 1:12
he entered 223 giveaways, maybe he is wise and choose those with a good ratio,,,,so the "big mysterie" resolved
i have seen wins in a row far far stranger than that

Then why did you make this thread, if it's not about you complaining?

for people to see what is happening around them.
that is all!
really i don't need free things in my life that much, i would like to get something for free once in my life but oh well i am not crazy about it...
you can tell that if you check how many entries i have in 2 years or so...

Well it is odds not luck as really there is no such thing as luck.
http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaways/won
I won twice in a week and 5 times in a month.
Won twice from the same user about a week apart,i know it shows 3 months and 2 months but it was close to to tend of the month for the first win.
Second,if you want better odds of winning the only way to improve them is by raising your level.Just to be clear though it only gives you better odds as you can usually enter GA with less people, less people means better odds of winning, not that it will increase the odds of all GA's.
Level 1 requires just one GA so that slightly helps over public GA's
Level 2 needs 25$ if my memory is correct
Level 3 needs at least 50$ worth of GA,and helps even more.
Level 4 needs 100$ and so on
I may have got the price wrong on level 2 but it should be close
I find most level 3 to have 1,000 or less entries depending on how new the game is or how popular it is.
Joining groups, getting on white list can really help you out as most my wins have come from 300 entries or less, and most of them where from group/white list.
Either way i th9ought this site was more based on giving then getting??
I get way more joy out of giving, even know i can not give like some or expensive games just nice that i can give back and share with others.
Also there is no such thing as karma,as in luck it really does not exist it just something people believe in,And it is just nice to think it might be karma for doing good things.
I just like to think if i do good things that good things will happen in return but usually it seems like for every one good deed i do it just means bad shit is waiting around the corner surprise me lol

Well.. to be fair, the winner did enter one game with 1000 copies and the other with only 127 entries.
I'd be lying if I said I never sat around trying to guess if there were any algorithms to winning. I do notice I am more likely to win something after giving things away. But I've also looked at profiles and see peeps that give away nothing and win all the time. Were they just lucky? Did the random computer winner selection system just hone in on their name (the letter it started with, the number of characters...), does entering at last second make a difference... He-he...Algorithms can be as mind boggling as wave particle duality if you think about it for too long. I have no idea how the system technically works. I believe it's truly random, no codes to influence how or why someone gets chosen. And yes who's to say it isn't karma or luck.
I also find I'm more likely to win when I'm not expecting to win anything. I hope to win stuff :) But I also like to come here for the forum posts, new game / steam info... Made a few friends here, which was a more worthwhile experience than the GA's. Not that I don't appreciate the games I've won.
I think I've entered from about 8032 - 11032 GA's. It says 8032 , but there was the time the entry number data was lost, before the site changed. I think I had at least 3000 entries before that happened and I don't think it was added back in. I've won 25 times. I think my ratio is about 1 win per 441 entries. The above advice about entering whitelist, group GA, puzzle GA is good. Spend your points before they stop adding on (at 300) Assuming there's games available you actually want to win and play, of course.
You've contributed some great games, which I'm sure was appreciated and brightened people's day. Don't lose hope.

Yeah, I've been here for about three years and 0 wins. Scam site.

I've won 8 out of 3647 entries, and most of the ones I've won have been 50+ prizes, or contributor giveaways, it's just bad luck sadly.

There is a lot of luck at play but I still do maintain that the system is hacked. Not this lucky guy, but I've seen 3 month old accounts with 5-6 wins of mostly triple A products (>5000 entries) or that guy who loved sonic so much that he won all three sonic games in one day.
