Download WhoCrashed It's an awesome tool goving you handles on what might have gone wrong. However, if it tells you that you're experiencing 0x124 hardware errors, you should look in your event logs for WHEA-warnings.

I keep getting the equivalent to a BSOD and a crash dump file is written each time but it seems the size of the file is not natural at all for this one issue being
DRIVER POWER STATE_FAILURE
Not sure if anyone knows how to open a memory.dmp file here on 8.1 but any help is appreciated.
Also, I've had this issue since I updated from 8 to 8.1 on my laptop.
EDIT: We've pinpointed the problem to the netio.sys driver
Not sure how to proceed about this at the moment.
