Is it good?
So just because you don't feel like giving money to big publishers, you will pirate it?
But if you are saying that you will pirate it first to try it out then buy it, that is total cool with me?
EDIT: Clearly I have offended you. I apologize.

I have pirated, but I always got the game afterwords or I already had the game on uplay/origin but was facing problems with the DRM.
Oh, and to clarify, I was arguing pirating a game with no intention of pirating it. I see that I went too far and apologized.

The pricing for Doom is completely messed up:
https://steamdb.info/app/379720/
They are charging 3rd worlders like zeroxxx the same, or even higher price than the base USD.

Yes, I am aware. The price in India (that is were I live) is higher than the USA price. But again, does that justify pirating? I believe, Zeroxxx other idea of wait for a sale is better. Anyway that's just what I think.

I see ID Software is trying to stick with the old school feel, but times have changed and players have different expectations. Similarly, no one is impressed by the Ford Model T car anymore(except history car buffs) even though the Model T had significant influence because car drivers today want features like built in GPS, rear view cameras, and self driving mode.

tried it.
its quiet fun, but the movement is a bit clunky.
also.. just 2 weapons... its "ok" but... hm... meh...
lightninggun is op as fuck
also.. those modifiers/hacks... i couldnt care less about them. feels like it makes no difference at all
well... as said before.. sp might be fun, maybe more a bulletspreader than the 3rd one.
mp... stick to q3arena and you have more fun (imho) only difference is maybe the doublejump/parcourthingy.. which is, i admit, nicely done :)

First of all: I've never played doom before.
I tried it for a bit. I'm pretty disappointed.
It doesn't deserve the "mostly negative" on steam, but it doesn't deserve 60€ too.
It's quite "slow", I expected something different.
Even if I've never played older doom I can understand the hate.

To me it looks like they went for a Call of Halo copy. Just without the same amount of content or unlocks.
And the singleplayer looks disappoinitng as well seeing as you keep getting slowed down by a fatality animation. (Edit: Their own trailers shows this)
It's as if they didn't have anyone on the team who actually played Doom.

So far the general opinion seems to be ranging from "meh" to "these fucktards who once gave us Quake III really dare to call this piece of fucking Call of Halo garbage an arena shooter?!".
SP will be a re-remake of Doom 1, this we already know, but it may be okay. Then again, it is Doom, so a bunch of great maps against well-placed enemies as single-player should suffice, especially us older gamers. And it is a simple enough concept that maybe they cannot fuck up even that. (And let us try to pretend that they didn't do that in Quake II back then. :D)
In short: MP seems totally forgettable (like Doom 3) but SP may save it (unlike Doom 3).

Ah, Doom 3. I bought it when it came out. About half way through the campaign I got fed up of it's stupid, simple "lights out, here they come" mechanic. Used god-mode just to finish the stupid game. There weren't any mods for the torch out then. Was a disappointing game.
Quake 4 was a much better SP game, unless you got the german version where they cut out half the story. Thankfully you could download the missing bits if you looked hard enough on the web xD

Honestly its pretty meh and boring.
/ i'd sign this, most meh and mediocre
hour spent on a game in a long time
If that is how the final release of DOOM will play then its going to be one shitty disappointment - regardless of the single player story.
Beta or not, that Demo was supposed to give an impression of how's the game going to be (at least play)
and it is a boring, sad something. Might be best played with a controller for "essential" rumble features lol.

Will buy it for SP...
at first people complain about getting games with to much bugs
then betas become a thing (not demos!) and people that will never pay 50 bucks for any game play the beta and start some shitwall...
Can't understand this...

Didn't play it but from the video on the store it looked more like halo than doom

I was surprised how meh the multiplayer was. Thought it would be better.

As a dedicated MP game, I'm not impressed. The game feels like an awkward mix between the old & the new. it's too slow for its otherwise old school mechanics, which quite frankly makes it a bit dull.
That said, it could well become a great SP game, and it seems incredibly well optimized. I did not expect it to run so well on my computer.

So I tried playing a bit.
Honestly its pretty meh and boring.
Even the graphics kind of suck.
And I used to play alot of quake and such in the past so I'm supposed to like it but something about this beta feels very...meh.
I don't think this is worth $60 even if it gets a super kickass amazing single player campaign upon release date.
Any thoughts?
