I tried half life 2 many years ago and I wanted to finish it but the problem is that every time i was playing it, it gave me headache, nausea and made me feel strange in general so i never managed to finish it. Yesterday i bought it on steam and today I tried it again and I noticed it's no more like the last time I played it but still make me feel a bit strange and makes me feel a bit warm(I hope is this the word I tried to say) inside.
There is only another game that gave me this effect, the first part where you are a child in fable 1 then the rest it's ok.

Is this ever happened to you?

you mean the fov? if yes what setting could be better.
It's however strange cause in half life the default fov it's 75, in other fps like battlefield i have 70 that it's similar and back when I was playing cod4 i used to have an higher fov but it never gave me problems.

different game, different engine, different graphics. also framerate is a factor... your tv size and quality as well as how far you are from it. I play with a FOV setting of 110 in Borderlands 2 on a 47 inch Sony Monitor at 2 or 3 feet away using mouse/keyboard. When I play 10 ft away on any FPS i get a headache, I prefer up close with large FOV.

a lot of people are actually experiencing that. Change fov to maximum (90 if I'm not mistaken) in advanced video options tab.

the problem is that is the game that gave me headache (every single time I played) and also the camera does not move more than any other fps

A few of my friends refuse to play HL1 because they say it gives them motion sickness. I've never experienced this and still enjoy HL1 and HL2. Perhaps you just need practice with the game's motion? Play patiently through the game for 30-60 mins to get used to it.

I felt a bit light headed recently every time I was playing Fallout 3.

I convinced myself it was because my GFX card is old and it was making the capacitors whine at a certain inaudible frequency that was affecting me. Of course that's crazy talk.

Audible frequencies are much more annoying ;D

Used to get the same thing in Spyro on the PS2, CoD WaW on the 360, and a few other games... I've gotten over it though, I think... Haven't played those in a while....

Planning on playing the game again to see if I've changed/

It's something to do with the source engine and the FOV... you can google for some fixes that worked for some people. I have a friend who has that same thing happen with Portal.

FOV. On 16:9 monitors you don't want to go below 90.

Try turning off the motion blur or changing the FOV... I've had similar problems as you've had while playing the first few hours of Bioshock. They always just make me incredibly dizzy for some reason, and I get a migraine.

It's called a boner, too much of your blood is rushing into your dick and you feel nauseous.

The game is that much fun.

Using headphone or apply heat (oil) to the area around your ears might help.

The motion sickness can be cured by forcefully disable ears function in ability to recognize speed and feeling. Inside ear drum, there is a special place which hold a small amount of fluid, helping sensing speed or your body gravity. When the eyes telling you that you are moving (via game visual or on a bus) but the ears give different signal to your brain (cause you are actually not moving at all).
The conflict signal regards eyes and ears sent to brain cause motion sickness.

This is why when traveling on a long trip, it is recommended that you sit on a bus near window (so you can get better air) or having certain medicine apply to your ear.
The reason why some games give motion sickness, while other dont, is based on the graphic. If the graphic similar to real world environment, it might accidentally fools your brain/eyes to adapt as an actual one.

I usually get motion sickness from older DOS games. Doom 2, System Shock and Duke 3D always made me nearly throw up, especially if you looked up and down. The way the screen warps in those games when you do that... oh the Horror. From yourd escription, I had the same experience with a rather shitty bundle game recently, which was Space Ark. The colors are way too vibrant, the music will get under your skin, and the visuals just game me a headache about 20 minutes into the game. Not to mention it's one of the laziest PC ports of a XBLA game I've ever seen. And I've seen Post Apocalyptic Mayhem, so that's saying a lot.

When I originally played HL2, I got motion sickness from the airboat. I simply drove around too extreme and it set it off. Also because there wasn't a proper pointer in the middle of the screen. I have not had the problem any other place in the game. But yeah, try sitting a Little farther away from the screen, try to force higher fov and take a break once in a while. The game IS amazing :)

Yeah, HL2's FOV is terrible. It gave me splitting headaches and nausea after 5 minutes. There's a few guides out there on how to increase the FOV. Just google "Half-Life 2 FOV".
