I want to paint that fur so badly. All the tiny little details, the shading. My fingers are twitching.

That is amazing!!!! If you hadn't said it was a model, I would have sworn that it was an illustration! It was worthy of that award for sure!:)

That is just insane... warhammer lore is nothing if not varied, I know very little about it, but as a steam collector own a gaggle of games, maybe I should break one out.

It looks incredible!
I've never looked at the super complicated rules for the game but I had hours of fun painting my cousin's lizard figurines:)
Of course the final product never came close to ... that. :^)

I wanted to have fun with various color schemes. Red and gold, baby blue and pink, black and white (oh my gosh).
But nooo, they all needed "to be the same light blue + dark blue pattern or the army doesn't make sense" -___-

PETA murders, because let's face it, that's what 'putting down' for reasons not medical is, 95% or so of the animals it 'rescues' - shouldn't they be worrying about those animal lives?
Not video game 'fur coats'....
Why anybody sane would listen to an organization that murders thousands of healthy animals, while bleating about animal rights show how broken education has become.

Yes, PETA is completely insane, they do some awful shit to animals too for supposed animal lovers

PETA needs to be flushed down the nearest toilet. They have long since lost any credibility, and are now a laughing stock.

Too late. :-/ PETA even has a game published on Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/547820/ Kitten Squad

They're right about this though
This statement is true only for some regions. I have seen couple of fur farms irl and it makes me sad when all that people know about them is from movies showed by PETA and similar organizations that were probably recorded in china or some 3rd world countries...

Also they believe animal farms are far more brutal than what goes on in Warhammer and Warhammer 40k.
That depends a lot on what kind of farming. Factory farming is a cruel and horrible example of mankind's inhumanity, but small-time or organic, free-range, etc farms are a very different kind.
Besides which, I'm still not sure if people living a bleak meat-grinder existence in the majority of 40k and not much better off in Warhammer Fantasy would agree:P

Now I don't want to trivialise some of the dreadful treatment of animals in the real world. I'm not a vegetarian but I only eat meat if I know where it came from - I'm from a rural background and I'm not comfortable with how a lot of processed meat is produced.
But I really think that PETA should familiarise themselves with some of the things that go in Warhammer (settings notorious for their excessive grimness and darkness) before making such claims.
Canon lore I'd like to cite from WH40k rule books and novels;
The populations of entire planets being dismembered by the followers of Khorne in order to collect blood for the blood God and skulls for his skull throne.
Fabius Bile performing horrific medical experiments on thousands of human captives in order to produce 'new men' warriors - usually doing so in order to receive thousands more human captives as payment and perform even more medical experiments on them.
Chapters of brave, compassionate and heroic Sisters of Battle being butchered by the 'good guys' in order to use their blood to produce mildly daemon resistant armour.
Dark Eldar and followers of Slaanesh using the populations of entire worlds to satiate their dreadful desires, which generally involve finding unmentionable new and perverse ways to make other creatures suffer. Unless you are reading novels from the Black Library range - in which case they are mentioned but you won't appreciate it...
Use of daemonhosts by radical members of the inquisition. In which typically unwilling daemons are bound within typically unwilling humans in order to be used as a source of information - with the pissed off daemons making sure their 'hosts' suffer terribly in return for the indignity for the decades or even centuries of their captivity.
The fate of the majority of human psychics throughout the Imperium - collected in the dreadful Black Ships and when not found strong enough to resist the taints and temptations of chaos either lobotomised and modified to serve as crude weapons and communication devices or used as fuel for the Golden Throne, life support machine of the Emperor of Mankind.
And so on and so forth...
And that in addition to my previous comments regarding the majority of 'furs' in the setting being taken from genetically modified humans or alien death beasts rather than animals according to the lore. And the remainder worn by some specific character generally being described as being taken from some terrible murderous beast after mortal combat somewhere in the fiction - rather than coming from an animal farm.
I'm not saying any of that is right - just that PETA are in danger of really making themselves look like complete tits on this one.. Maybe even more than usual...

Again? Wait... Why PETA didin't said anything about Durotan from Warlords of Draenor, where he wear a fur from his former wolf companion?
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-P91JICYjg7g/VkkAdasDrJI/AAAAAAAAAMM/br_9c41Ckwg/s1600/Durotan-03.jpg
And again, for one moment in Warcraft Movie is wear wolf fur.

Seriously PETA is just bunch of idiots, i wonder when will be next episode in South Park about them.

so how do we get in contact with them to tell them to go fuck themselves? how do people even get the thought that they can ago around telling others what they can or cant do?
My D&D character will be going hunting for the biggest god damn wolves he can find and I will sell many of them. This is how I will raise money to rule the world, ill buy even more traps to capture more of them. PELT FARM IT IS!!!!!

How stupid are they?
In WH they Need to wear für or how would we know how badass they are?

Arrrrghhh, PETA!
Man, I hate those guys. They give animal-rights activists a bad name. I consider myself pro-animal rights (PETA wouldn't because I'm not a vegan, I have pets and I wear leather trainers) but I actually think less of people who campaign on PETA's behalf.
Arguing about things that don't exists means that people don't take you seriously when you try to spread a message about things that are actually important.

"the use of fur pelts in fictional fantasy is encouraging the normalization of slaughtering animals."
FFS, it's fictional. Their argument is idiotic beyond redemption.

This has to be one of the stupidest things they've ever done ,and that is saying something.
Animal rights group PETA calls for Warhammer fur clothing ban.
To clarify, I abhor what GW has done to Warhammer Fantasy with Age of Shitmar, and don't really buy their overpriced models at all anymore, but I still love the hobby and detest when competely outsider groups try to play up as if they know what they're talking about to confuse people who don't know better.
"7:14 PM - Heavenhair Sixes: I've played since Rogue Trader, I'm fairly sure that most Earth animals were extinct long before the WH40k setting - most 'fur' comes from foul xenos or modified orphans or some such crap. If PETA want to start defending the rights of face eating beasts from strange fictional deathworlds then they are only going to end up looking like even bigger idiots."
Update:PETA has filed a formal complaint against Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. Quoting "the use of fur pelts in fictional fantasy is encouraging the normalization of slaughtering animals."
Also they believe animal farms are far more brutal than what goes on in Warhammer and Warhammer 40k.
That's a Grudge:
