I can hardly believe this is real, it seems absurd that someone would make these claims and be serious about it.
Sounds like a joke or a huge cry for attention.
It's a shame that fighting for animal rights often sounds laughable because of the ridiculousness an organization like PETA displays in its activities.
They do more harm to animals than good.
...and I'm not even talking about literally killing them.

The last thing on Earth I feel like doing is defending PETA given all the nonsense they spew, but a lot of those animals would not be adopted since they're often found in terrible health conditions (WARNING: disturbing pictures) and PETA does not have the space/resources to keep them.

Still most SPCA's rescues many animals in similar conditions and they have much better adoption rates. If you want to help animals, go and donate some money to them, or just adopt a dog or a cat. Supporting PETA is one of the worst ways to help animals.

But... the fur on models is made of plastic, so technically it's artifitial fur... Or it's like "plastic have feelings too" campaign?

They better be worried about such people killing the heretics then.

I was going to send this to my friends acquaintances who play Space Wolves, but then I remembered they would have just pointed out that the fur pelts their Space Marines wear technically came from genetically modified humans rather than actual wolves. PETA might need to read through the background material more thoroughly before continuing with this campaign...

Also the only 'pelts' worn by my chaos army are the skins of flayed humans. I assume that is fine by the standards of PETA.

Yeah, there are definitely no wolves left on Fenris after that dumb one-eyed space wizard fucked up planet. FU Magnus. I hope that GW at least bring back few loyal primarchs like Leman Russ and Khan if they want to continue storyline and not going to just bluntly destroy everything like they did with AoS.

Yeah, i know about it, this part of lore was well explained in Abnett's "Prospero Burns". I don't know why so much people disliked this book, Abnett never failed me, his works for WH40k universe is probably the best in my opinion, especially Inquisition series. That's how i got my nickname by the way.

In 2014, PETA attempted to get a monument erected in Gainesville. Florida at the site of a truck crash that killed the truck's load of chickens, wanting the state to foot the bill for its role in the loss of animal lives.
They tried again in 2016 near my home of Turlock, California for another truck crash that killed chickens, under the same demands.
They are batshit insane.

Well, it's PETA the organisation that kills 98% of the dogs they rescue, the vast majority of them within 24 hours after being rescued. What more is there to say ?

I mean i knew they ware a joke ... but thats just retarded .
They realized they are a joke of a organization literally actually doing NOTHING whatsoever to help animals or prevent animal cruelty , so instead they are focusing on the Clickbait headliners , and waging war on Cyber games and stuff...
pretty pathetic to say the least ...
yet the less knowedgable people will think they are doing anything ...

I mean , having an organization to protect endangered species and stuff is nice thing ... WWF was a thing (Duno if it is anymore) ...
We are fucking up the planet slowly but surely , and exploting everything we can get our hands on ... sooo as an Idea , PETA was a good thing.
Sadly the reality is different... its just money laundering scheme at this point .

There are plenty of great organizations trying to protect nature. And I can understand a publicity stunt to raise money to do good work. But PETA just seem to use publicity stunts to raise money for more publicity stunts...

And of course, inform yourself about what PETA does. Their official sites only spread lies that have nothing to do with the truth and/or reality.

If PETA didn't exist, I'd probably be a 100% cotton kinda guy. As it stands, whenever I see stuff like this it makes me want to buy mass quantities of animal fur for some reason :-D
... Anybody know where I can buy a cloak or other medieval / barbarian themed accessories made of genuine leather / fur for a reasonable price? Thinking something that would go well at a Renfair / LARPing (never tried it but you never know).

I have a friend that does mediaeval style fur clothing and accessories. She gets her pelts from auctions of animals that have died of natural causes or in accidents with proceeds going to wildlife conservation. Her stuff comes with certificates that it is environmentally friendly.
Unfortunately I'm not allowed to link to her online because of the death threats she gets for her work from assholes like PETA. Also she has a massive waiting lists.

Only online. Maybe because she has a lot of really sharp knives and knows how to skin things.

That's cool. Even growing up with a somewhat rural/pro-hunting outlook, I can still respect that as a choice.
Sorry, your friend has to go through grief because of those clowns. If it wasn't for the "massive waiting lists", I'd say message me on steam and I'd be happy to check it out.

meat is good food, anthropologist types like to credit our cooking of meat and increased absorption of nutrients for our increasing intelligence.
I on the other hand know that animals were made to be eaten from the beginning, and animals are not people, animals have being but are not persons, only sentient beings are persons (God, angels, demons, humans)
So here I've just showed you both from an atheist scientific standpoint, and a Judeo-Christian standpoint, why PETA is moronic.

It works, though. Related video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE3j_RHkqJc

That's a really interesting video but I still stand by what I said. The campaign PETA is doing doesn't make anyone angry, it just makes them mildly annoyed... and perhaps a little sad. Annoyed because they're bringing something (gaming) into a subject that has absolutely nothing to do with it. And sad, because animal cruelty is a real thing - and PETA is doing a horrible job at bringing it to light.
The campaign not "offensive" enough to make people angry and argue about it because everyone realizes it's bloody ridiculous to begin with. It's also doing such a poor job at bringing the real issues out that no one wants to stand behind it. Just like the previous attempts by PETA to hijack gaming for their cause, this will just get a headline or two, and perhaps a post or two like this one. Almost exclusively people pointing out how stupid it is. Then everyone will just collectively forget about it. Just like they did about the Mario Tanuki Suit thing or all the other silliness they've done over the years.

Good enough for them, they probably consider people talking "hey, did you hear about that stupid shit PETA said this week?" a lot better than people not talking about them at all. Like you said, PETA doesn't do crap to help, I think at this point they're not even trying to pretend to be good, it's all for the sake of attention whoring.
Now that I think about it, though, I wonder if that actually helps them. I mean, they still exist, so somebody must give them money for all the crap they pull, but how much is it just the same people supporting them all these years? Lemme put on my tinfoil hat, I wonder how many of the people who back them do it to discredit other animal rights activist groups? :v

Let's ignore the point brought up in the quote in OP and assume that character wearing fur is indeed the worst possible human being... So do warriors serving an oppressive, totalitarian empire, care that much about the environment while they slaughter aliens and demons?

This has to be one of the stupidest things they've ever done ,and that is saying something.
Animal rights group PETA calls for Warhammer fur clothing ban.
To clarify, I abhor what GW has done to Warhammer Fantasy with Age of Shitmar, and don't really buy their overpriced models at all anymore, but I still love the hobby and detest when competely outsider groups try to play up as if they know what they're talking about to confuse people who don't know better.
"7:14 PM - Heavenhair Sixes: I've played since Rogue Trader, I'm fairly sure that most Earth animals were extinct long before the WH40k setting - most 'fur' comes from foul xenos or modified orphans or some such crap. If PETA want to start defending the rights of face eating beasts from strange fictional deathworlds then they are only going to end up looking like even bigger idiots."
Update:PETA has filed a formal complaint against Warhammer and Warhammer 40k. Quoting "the use of fur pelts in fictional fantasy is encouraging the normalization of slaughtering animals."
Also they believe animal farms are far more brutal than what goes on in Warhammer and Warhammer 40k.
That's a Grudge:
