Is Steamgifts rigged?

I had to Google to figure out where this image came from...
...then I saw a couple of scenes from the movie from Youtube... I do not think I will ever be able to unsee what I have seen... and I did not even get to the scene with this particular image, which must be nuts as well.
Thank you for sending me down this rabbit hole. :D :D

I used to have a similar problem until I joined a cult. Now my winnings have increased. 😀

Cult of the Space Cat? Heard about it. What are real CV requirements to join? And how many tier 1 bundle keys I'd need to sacrifice?

This thread reminded me of that one guy who's convinced that Steamgifts has an elite class that serves to only give keys to members of the elite, with website administrator backing. Long ago, the guy violated the regifting rule. When confronted by staff, his response was that since he won them, the keys were now his, and therefore he could do whatever he wanted with them. Guy even has a blog post about it.

Depending on the giveaways you enter
More people = less chance obviously
or if they're multiple or single copy giveaways.
And also if you enter giveaways for games you only want vs everything then obviously as well lower chance
I can say its done fair, but then again i win like once every 1-2 months at least. And most things i enter are multiple copies giveaways
It is definitely a "high risk high reward" type of thing
some people are just luckier than others, one of my friends tried the site years ago and i told him to just "enter giveaways in his free time, don't take it seriously or don't expect to win instantly or anything AAA"
He tried for like a year, won 1 game and then decided its not worth it because even tho i told him not to he still expected to win way more often.
So i guess luck might just be building up for you, maybe the next thing you win will be a AAA game or something that is really low chance like 1:20000

Well, if you don't have the numbers, it becomes a conspiracy theory.
The number of users has not increased much over the past year.
In the second half of February this year, there was an incident in Ukraine, and it seems that the number of users increased a little because Russians were censored and those users joined to confirm the information.
What was last October...? I guess I am just forgetting, but I think some community event increased the number of people.

Hmm... 👀
The number of users for the number of Giveaways is much different, so the winning rate also increases.
Lv0 and Lv1 seemed to have occasional incidents involving bots and autojoins.
You would see people stating "please don't say thank you" or something along those lines.
And if you look at the past violations of Lv0 and Lv2 people on SGTools, about half of them have problems.
📝
Raising your lvl 3 or higher and accessing those prizes will do wonders to increase your odds of winning.
(Who has a higher win rate at Lv0 to Lv2? Not surprising if you are a group or Puzzle or Jigsaw enthusiast. If not, it is a wonder.)

Not sure if you were joking or actually serious about the rigged part, but if you were, think about it for a second. What actual advantages would there be for cg to "rig" Steamgifts to benefit some random user over you? They won't profit from this, and it's a lot of unnecessary work on the backend. As for the probability stuff, you already have too many examples above so I won't take a deep dive into your probabilities of winning a giveaway - I always give the same example when people complaint about not winning enough;
Imagine you take a d6 dice and pass it along a crowd and get them to roll until they get a 6. You could expect that they'll roll a 6 within 6 rolls, but in truth many will roll a 6 one their first, second, third, fourth or fifth time. Similarly, some people will roll 7, 8, 9, 10, etc. times without rolling a 6.
Now, I'm nowhere close to being adept in the topic of probability, but maybe that will shed some light on why some people may be seen as "lucky" or "unlucky" in a game of probability - I'd say for every "lucky" winner is an "unlucky" loser, but in average it balances out.

Only one entry a giveaway will win, when there is one only price, so i yes its rigged.

So i think it doesnt matter how much u give. But at higher levels u get less gibs for those high levels but also less entrants, so higher lvl gibs=higher chances to win

My weirdest realization was that having the same chance to win something here, and the same chance of something bad happening elsewhere is viewed so differently in my mind. 20% chance of winning? Pretty good chances! 20% chance of getting hurt by doing something? That's just one in five, it won't happen, I'll be fine.

I'm facing the same issue... So...
Short answer: yes.
Long answer: yes, it is.

It's not just about the total amount of giveaways you enter, but your % chance of winning as well.
I too got annoyed at never winning anything, so started paying attention to how many people had entered, and only joined giveaways for games i was interested in, had less than 1,000 entries, and was ending within a few hours.
This greatly increased my wins, to the point i was getting more games than i had time to play. So now i mainly enter for things on my wishlist, regardless of amount of entries, and poke a few other interesting games i've not heard of , that dont have too many entries. So my win rate is down to maybe 1 game a month.

I've been a member now for 8 years. I haven't won any giveaways in 4 years even though I have entered into 32,526 give aways.
In the past 4 years I have won nothing, zero, zip!
This leads me to believe that something is wrong with SteamGifts. Maybe because I haven't given away any games in a long while? The number of entries per give away hasnt really changed over the past 6 years, and it's supposed to be random draws.
Anyone else experienced this? I see some accounts with ridiculously high win rates without giving anything away. Something smells fishy!!
